Description

Nature is really my thing! I am a also a Workaway host so feel free to look up my profile and feedback. I love to be busy and always have several projects on the go. I have a strong work ethic and always aim to please. At the grand age of 52 (yes, I am in my prime! ;)) I want to see what its like on the other side of Workaway. My hope is to meet interesting people who are as passionate about nature and biodiversity as I am. I hope to learn, be inspired, and hopefully do the same for others.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My degree is in mechanical engineering but my chosen career was teaching design, technology and engineering to 11-18 year olds in the UK, which I did for about 20 years. I was doing the teaching, but I learned so much myself in that time. We are all hopefully lifelong learners! I have a great understanding of materials, tools, techniques, and a myriad of skills, but wouldn't consider myself a master of any one of them. I've done everything from camper conversions to restoring my own stone built 200+ year old cottage. I have always been a gardener, which brings me joy every day of the year. The photos of my place will testify to that!
My other passion is animals, particularly dogs. I have been involved in dog rescue charities for many years, and have fostered many more animals than I can count! My little dog Nellie travels everywhere with me and is super well behaved!

I like good conversation, a wide variety of music, love to dance and socialise, but also find that I need solitude in nature to recharge my batteries. I enjoy many crafts -mosaic making, crochet, sewing, furniture making and recycling. I like to have a go at everything at least once, and love learning new skills. I am well travelled, love history, science classic literature, maths.... ok I'm curious and interested in most things, except maybe competitive sports!
