​Hello! I am a 38-year-old Afrikaans/English speaking, South African male currently embarking on a journey across our beautiful country. After a period of reflection, I have decided to embrace a life of service and connection, trading my hard work and dedication for a roof over my head and the chance to learn and contribute meaningfully.
​I am a happy-go-lucky person who finds true contentment in nature, quiet environments, and the company of animals. I’m currently on a spiritual journey to find where the universe wants to use me, and I thrive in peaceful, therapeutic surroundings. I value a quiet lifestyle and believe in showing deep respect for the privacy and values of my hosts; I appreciate a calm home environment where care and kindness are the standard.
​Skills & Experience
My recent years living on a smallholding have taught me to be resourceful and adaptable. My hands-on experience includes:
​Livestock & Pets: I am very comfortable working with sheep and chickens, and I truly love dogs.
​Gardening & Eco-Projects: I’ve spent plenty of time gardening in challenging clay soil. I am very interested in learning more about the health benefits of herbs and the process of making herbal products, jams, or syrups.
​Maintenance & Manual Labor: I’m experienced with barbed wire and wildlife fencing, and I’m comfortable using a chainsaw. I’m happy to tackle invasive plant removal or wood chopping—no task is too big when done with love.
​Kitchen & Home: While I’m not a professional chef, I am excellent at following recipes and love helping out with the cooking and general household care.
​Practicalities
I am a hardy, resource-conscious person—I understand the rhythms of farm life, including water conservation and managing during load-shedding. I do not own a vehicle, but I am fully prepared to arrange my own public transport to get as close as possible to a host, and I’m more than happy to walk the "last mile" to reach a farm.
​I am single, adventurous, and looking to explore South Africa one community at a time. Whether it’s a long walk in nature or a quiet afternoon fishing, I appreciate the simple things. I am eager to step outside my comfort zone, contribute my skills to your project, and learn from your experience. I look forward to the possibility of meeting you!

​Practical Farm & Smallholding Skills
Having lived on a smallholding for several years, I am deeply familiar with the daily rhythms and responsibilities of rural life. I have hands-on experience caring for livestock, specifically sheep and chickens, and I am comfortable with feeding and general upkeep. I am also proficient with various types of fencing, having assisted with the installation and repair of both barbed wire and wildlife fencing. I am experienced with a chainsaw for wood chopping and clearing brush, and I am a very "tool-handy" person who enjoys keeping equipment in good working order.
​Gardening & Landscaping
I have a solid foundation in gardening, specifically learning how to adapt to the heavy clay soil common in our region. I am familiar with planting, weeding, and general yard maintenance. I am a quick learner and very interested in eco-projects, organic gardening, and learning more about the harvest and propagation of herbs.
​General Maintenance & Observations
I consider myself a "handy" person who is happy to help where needed—whether it’s basic bricklaying, painting, or fixing a leak. Beyond physical labor, I am a very observant person; I’ve learned to keep a sharp eye out for things that need attention, such as a loose fence wire, a dripping pipe, or an animal that seems under the weather. Being South African, I am also very security-conscious and understand the importance of being aware of my surroundings and keeping gates and property secure.
​Kitchen & Household Help
I am a helpful and organized presence in the kitchen. While I don’t cook "off the cuff," I am very good at following recipes accurately and assisting with meal prep, preserving, or making products like jams, syrups, and herbal infusions. I am also happy to help with general house cleaning and organization.
​Logistics & Mindset
I am a very low-maintenance guest and a "resource-conscious" worker. I understand the importance of water conservation and am comfortable navigating life during load-shedding or in off-grid setups. I am happy to sleep in a tent, caravan, or room, and I am just as content working solo as I am as part of a team. While I don’t own a vehicle, I am experienced with public transport and happy to walk the "last mile" to reach your gate.

I’m a man of simple pleasures and a proud South African who loves exploring the hidden gems of our beautiful country. I’m a firm believer in respect, kindness, and hard work, and I don’t need much to be happy,just some fresh air, a bit of work to do, and a peaceful environment.
​When I’m not busy with chores, you’ll likely find me out for a long walk or sitting quietly with a fishing rod; I truly value the quiet of the countryside. I’m also a big animal lover, so if you have pets, they’ll have a new best friend in me! I’m a very low-maintenance guest and a handy person to have around,whether it’s fixing a squeaky door or just being an extra pair of hands during a busy day, I’m always happy to pitch in. I’m also a seasoned traveler on public transport and I genuinely don't mind a good walk to get where I need to be!
