I will start traveling on the 20th of may and am looking to do volunteering for four weeks starting in June, preferably on the north island. Id love to work in nature, help sustainable projects, etc.

Hey,
im Jakob, a German national doing a gap year before university right now. As I have already did an exchange year to Canada and enjoy traveling much, I am interested in new surroundings/culture and volunteering in interesting projects in New Zealand. I love nature, as I have grown up in a small village with a big garden and have therefore always beeng gardening a lot. I am also keen on doing something good for nature and communities before going to university as I wasn't able to do a "voluntary social gap year (FSJ in Germany)". I hope to find interesting hosts and projects the connect me with the culture and nature of New Zealand .

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have been gardening and doing other chores in and around the house my whole life, as my family has got a big garden and a really old house always needing maintenance. Furthermore, I am experienced in working with people and customers, as I worked as a waiter and ski instructor before. I am also an experienced traveller, as I have spent a year in Canada as an exchange year and did many trips with my family. Therefore, my English is pretty good as well, as I have obtained the C2 Cambridge level. I hold a drivers license, have experience in working with pets and kids and have worked many weeks in raising money for NGO's as well as doing two internships in landscape architecture.

I am an experienced skier as I have been skiing my whole life, did the basic Austrian ski instructor license and have experience in ski instructing (especially with kids). I also enjoy going to the gym, running and am doing kickboxing since im 8 years old. I like reading and try to spend less time in front of screens and am therefore thrilled to be part of an off grid project.
