Description

Hi, I’m Isabelle!

I’m solo travelling France in June and July this year with an aim to improve my French, which is an ambition I have had for the last few years. While currently on a sabbatical year from my current architectural job, I have been lucky enough to travel around New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka so far. I can’t wait to see what France has to offer!

I’m a pretty positive person and am always interested in trying new things and going to new places. I really enjoy being around people, but also love to spend time on my own reading or creating something.

Generally, I am very well organised and dedicated to the tasks I undertake. I’m not afraid of a challenge and look forward to developing new skills in whatever opportunities come my way.

Please note that I am vegetarian (no meat or fish), but that I have a few signature recipes that I am happy to share!

I did French at school and have now found time to practice the language properly! I am at a beginner level (or a very rusty intermediate) but would love to improve and work towards a DELF B1 qualification.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I currently work as a consultant in an architecture practice in London, so have developed strong creative, interpersonal and organisational skills. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends or doing anything creative such as drawing, painting, dancing and playing guitar. I’m also a keen hiker, surfer and swimmer - opting to lead a pretty healthy lifestyle as much as travel allows.

I previously did volunteer work as a swimming teacher at my competitive swimming club in the UK, so I am not a stranger to basic teaching principles and leading classes.

My main focus for the next few months is to improve my French. I have a deep rooted interest in the language from my time at school and have maintained a keen attitude towards learning. I have tried to self-teach French at various points over the last 5 years, but now have the time to get fully absorbed in the language and culture in France!
