Description

Hi I am Isaac, I am 25 years old and Irish. Last summer 2022, I travelled through France and Spain for 3 weeks by myself. During that period I learned more about myself than I ever have before. I cannot speak Spanish or French but I still communicated and made some friends along the way, I would be naturally outgoing and talkative at the same time I love to sit and listen to people. I have a genuine interest in peoples wellbeing and love to make people smile. My long term career goal is to use Horticulture as a natural therapy for mental health. If you can make one person smile a day I think that is a great thing. My most recent job was 6 months working as a plumber with my family. I am not skilled in that area but I enjoyed it and I was a good helper. I love picking up new skills I think it is important to be open to learning new skills/ideas in life. I love life and the natural world that surrounds us I walk my local beach everyday and I always make sure to step out into my garden in the mornings before the busy day ahead. My Day always starts with watching sunrise. I will be heading back to university in September 2023 in my home country Ireland to study Horticulture and continue on this amazing journey. I have always been an outdoors person from a young age, going on hikes and playing sports. It wasn't until last year I had a bit of a setback in my life that changed my perspective on certain things along with giving me a new love for the simple things in life like family, friends, nature. I have worked several jobs throughout the years from Sports massage to data analyst but none of these careers made me feel fulfilled. Over the past year I stumbled upon Horticulture and love it! I still have very little experience but I am willing to learn. One area of Horticulture I do not know much of is permaculture but it seems like a beautiful part of horticulture that I would love to learn more about. Overall I think what really motivates me to do workaways is meeting new like minded people, telling stories, learning and growing connections with people and gaining experience in my new found love Horticulture.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’m quite new to horticulture but I’m willing to work and understand how plants interact with the land and their overall beauty as they grow, I love organic farming, I love to talk and I think im a good communicator even if there is a language barrier. I believe I don’t judge people much which can be a good thing I like to get to know everyone first this can be a good trait if you have groups of people around as I like to build good Comradery.

I studied sports massage therapy for 2 years and also worked as a data analyst for 2 years.
