Daan: I get happy from being outside, eating (and making) pizzas, listening to all kinds of music and learning new and interesting things about people or the planet.
I recently graduated from the master Bio Inspired Innovation and I'm very motivated to find natural solutions for the many problems we face surrounding climate change. I'm now travelling through Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica and would love to tell you all about my studies! I like learning about new subjects and developing new skills. And can't wait to find out what amazing opportunities to do this lie ahead of me! I'm quite an adventurous and positive minded person, and am excited to leave more places better than before I came!

Iris: I love being outside, music, all animals and connecting with people. I feel strongly motivated to make our world a more sustainable, healthy place. This overlaps with my choice of study, since I recently graduated from a masters in the nutrition and human health field. In my free time I love to exercise (especially run and dance), and spend a lot of time with friends and family. I am (usually ;) ) full of energy and a quick learner. During my months of travelling through Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica I hope to meet new people, have strong interactions and conversations, learn new skills, and to contribute positively to every place we stay!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Daan: I recently graduated from the
master Bio Inspired Innovation, at Utrecht University. Which is all about learning from nature and applying knowledge of biology in creating more sustainable products or services. Which allows humans to coexist with their local ecosystem and start regenerating the earth. Part of my graduation project was creating and giving a workshop to real estate developers about connecting
the built environment to the local ecosystem in order to find solutions for climate change and start restoring nature. Before this I studied biology and did a minor in psychology. I would love to put my study into work and help with finding sustainable and natural solutions for problems in your backyard or neighbourhood. Besides my studies I'm also a scout leader in the Netherlands, where I teach children about fire making, pathfinding and cooking. And I have bit of understanding of gardening as my parents used used have a vegetable garden. I love to make pizza's and am very happy to share the pizza's or the techniques with you! Overall I am eager to learn and quick to pick up new things and I'm ready for a challenge.

Iris: I recently completed my masters at Wageningen University & Research in the nutrition and human health field. I feel very motivated to create a more healthy and sustainable world. As to my more concrete skills; I have quite a lot of experience with babysitting (ages between 12 months and 14 years old), and with tutoring children. I have also worked in a restaurant for a while and have experience with serving and bartending. I lived in a big student house for 5 years where I often had to clean thoroughly, therefore I have a lot of experience with cleaning and tidying. In accordance with my study background, I would moreover love to help with any health and fitness related goals, and following and giving zumba lessons is one of my big passions. My other big passion is for animals, and in particular for dogs! Since I was 11 I have had a dog, and I therefore have quite some experience with taking care of one. I also have experience with interacting and taking care of horses. But above all, I would say I am a quick learner and I feel very eager to develop new skills!
