Description

We recently embarked on a new life, traveling slowly around the world, primarily by bicycle. We love contributing to the community, meeting new people, being close to nature, riding public transportation, and of course, bicycling and walking.

We look forward to meeting people, learning about places, and contributing to communities around the world through Workaway.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We are industrious people and have experience in a variety of areas, including:
- Cooking: we both are comfortable in the kitchen and enjoy preparing food. Ira's family has been in the food service industry for 50 years.
- Yard work / gardening: we've worked with organizations that planted trees, removed weeds and invasive plants, spread mulch, constructed hiking trails, etc.
- Fruit and vegetable harvesting: we've picked fruits and vegetables as part of volunteer initiatives for food non-profits and for our own enjoyment.
- Pet care (e.g., dogs and cats): Ali is a long time cat lover. Together we've cared for people's pets while they were away through another website, which included feeding, walking, and playing with our furry friends.
- House-sitting: we've taken care of people's homes while they were away through a different platform.
- General handiwork: Ira is very skilled at fixing things, and Alexandra has experience in painting walls, fences, etc.
- Hospitality and reception: Ira worked at his family's ice cream store for many years and Alexandra has restaurant and office reception work experience.
- Event support: we've served as volunteer staff at special events where we checked in guests, handed out materials, helped manage refreshments, provided technical support, etc.
- Language exchange: we've served as conversation partners for others who were learning English (and we try to learn new languages along the way!)
- Sorting and organizing: we've sorted and packaged food, clothing, sanitary items, etc., for distribution in the community, and we enjoy organizing things.
- Bicycle maintenance: Ira took a course, and has had much hands-on experience in the past few months :).
- IT: Ira has built his own computers and is very skilled in fixing technical issues.
- Data analytics: we both worked as data analysts for 10+ years.
