Description

Hi! My name is Inka and I'm a cheery 30 yo young woman from Helsinki, Finland.

I’m studying IT business here in Helsinki and working part time in grocery stores. The flat where I'm living is going under renovation later this year so after summer I'm going to do my studies online and travel! Ever since I did my first workaway in 2021 I knew it was something I should do more of. And now finally this year I have the chance to travel for several months, while doing my studies online. That way I get student benefits from Finland, allowing me to afford the travels.

Early September I shall make my way to Italy with trains and buses, which I am so excited about! I shall spend September and October there and am now planning on where to travel from there. Dreaming of Latin America, to brush up my Spanish :-) So you can see me browsing for hosts from Costa Rica, Columbia, Guatemala, Mexico for November and December :-) Feel free to message me, I am looking for flights and opportunities on the other side of the Atlantic. My plan is quite flexible but I'm thinking of possibly coming back home to Finland for christmas.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have some IT skills that I could try to help with if needed.
On both of my previous workaways I helped taking care of cats.
In Syros in Greece more extensively - not only feeding the cats but also giving them medicine and cleaning after them etc. In Greece and Portugal I also worked a bit in the garden. I'm not a professional but I'm not scared of getting my hands dirty, and I in fact enjoy weeding.
I have worked customer service jobs for years and I love working with people. I've also done some volunteer work for example with elderly people and homeless people.

I am a city girl, also quite demanding of myself, so what I can offer for a host is my willingness to learn. I may not have experience on a lot of practical things but if it’s something one can learn by watching and doing, I’d be happy to do my best! :-)

I do love to travel, and I love learning languages and learning about different cultures and countries, and meeting new people. I also love nature, which is why I dream of countries that have mountains and beaches. As a Finn I really want to escape the dark and cold winters. What I also love are people. I am quite a social person and I love chatting with people from different cultures. Something that I also need to mention is my love for music. Sometimes live music has been the only thing to bring me tears of joy. Singing and dancing gives me great happiness.

Sustainability is a big value for me and something I'd love to learn more about. I’m not a vegetarian or vegan but I do not require meat, I’m happy to get more influence on this too.

To be able to travel I need to do some studying online, so a functioning wi-fi is a requirement for me. It shouldn't be too time consuming for me but approximately 1-3 days, flexibly, I would need so time to do studying.

I’m dreaming of countries like Italy, Portugal, the Greek islands, Malta, Spain. And my true dream for years and years has been South and Central America. Preferrably Spanish speaking countries such as Colombia, Costa Rica and Mexico. What I’m looking for is beautiful nature. Mountains and ocean are the dream. Anything green and lush really. Spending time in Latin America would be a dream come true.

For my future, I don't have a clear picture of my future career. One dream would be to work for an international charity. For now my plan is to work for a Finnish travel agency, as a travel guide, after I finish my studies. Which should be in 2027 :-)
