Yo! My name is Inhee, and I am a 21 year old student from the United States. I was born in Seoul, South Korea but my family and I immigrated to the United States when I was three years old, and I've been living here since. I am currently a college student at Duke University with a major in biology and a minor in sociology.

My plan is to go to medical school and become a doctor after graduating, and so I also hope that by traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing new ways of life that will help me become a more understanding and better physician and person. Part of the reason I want to become a doctor is because I feel like healthcare is too much like a business in the United States. My mother has many stories of her going to doctors and not being listened to or misdiagnosed because they try to see as many patients as possible. As a result, she goes to Korea now if she has serious health problems. I want to change that by being a doctor who sees their people for their life story and problems rather than their symptoms and patient ID number. I believe that the more I travel the more I will be able to understand people and achieve my goal!

I am an avid backpacker/hiker with multiple 4-5 day hiking trips in the wilderness under my belt. I also like to run, lift weights, cook, play with animals, and learning new things. I also teach 8-9 grade boys for my church's sunday school, and so I like teaching too. I also used to wash dishes for my dad's restaurant, and so I can do chores and clean whatever!

I haven't traveled to many places, and so I'd like to make up for that now while I am still young and before I go into medicine.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Experience with Children: I have been a sunday school teacher at my church for about three years now. I have taught 8-9 grade boys for the last three years. I also have done some summer camps as a camp counselor for elementary school students when I was in high school. I also volunteer for an organization that teaches kids with disabilities how to play baseball every Saturday.

Cleaning: I washed dishes for my father's restaurant since I was in middle school, and so I am very familiar with everything related to cleaning, especially kitchens.

Research: I am a scientific researcher at the Bohórquez lab at Duke University where we study how the gut communicates directly with the brain. I love to pick into things and see why things are the way they are.
