Description

My name is Indrani, and I am originally from India but have been living in Finland for 4 years.

I’ve been lucky to have three wonderful Workaway experiences in Germany and Slovenia, where I stayed with local families and became part of their everyday life. In winter 2024, I did housesitting in Germany, helping with cooking, cleaning, shopping, and taking care of guinea pigs. In summer 2025, I spent a month with a German family, supporting them with cooking, laundry, garden work, and spending quality time with their energetic daughter. In winter 2025, I stayed with a Slovenian family, where I helped around the house with cooking and cleaning while enjoying the calm rhythm of winter life.
Through these experiences, I’ve learned how much I enjoy getting to know people and their cultures, being helpful, adapting to new homes, and contributing wherever I can. Living closely with families has strengthened my communication skills, cultural awareness, and ability to fit into different environments with ease and respect. I’m reliable, responsible, and happy to take initiative, whether it’s caring for pets, supporting daily household tasks, or spending time with children. Most of all, I value simple, meaningful exchanges, shared routines, and the joy of living like a local rather than just passing through. So, I prefer longer stays (around a month) as this truly makes me feel a part of the family.

I enjoy travelling, long walks, listening to music, reading storybooks, and I’m also comfortable spending time on my own. This helps me adapt easily to new places and people, as I connect out of curiosity and openness rather than expectation. I find this balance makes shared living more relaxed and enjoyable.
Even though I may seem quiet at first, it usually takes me a little time to open up. I enjoy meaningful conversations and like hearing other people’s perspectives and opinions. I value open communication and believe it makes living and working together much easier and more enjoyable. I’m also a very good listener and a quick learner.

I’m excited about the possibility of becoming part of a household, sharing daily routines, challenging myself, and learning from one another. For me, the best experiences come from genuine connections, trust, and feeling at home together.
