Description

My name ist Katharina - my friends call me Katha. I am 32 years old and I am teaching German an History classes in Upper Austria. For my summer holidays I am currently looking for some adventure and new experiences.

As a child and teenager I loved reading about trappers and explorers in the north of America and since I never got the opportunity to spend a year abroad during my studies I would love to have the opportunity to get to know American Country life during my summerholidays.

As a scout leader I enjoy being outside in nature and I like working physically in summer especially as I see it as having some balance to teaching during the year.

I am a quite active person. I do outdoorsports such as kayaking (mainly flat water), hiking, mountain climbing and jogging whenever I can.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As a teenager and in my early twenties I worked in catering as a waitress. So I have some experience in tourism. I learned how to interact with guests and also I think this is where I gained my work ethics.

I did some voluntary work in the mountains, reforesting the woods that keep avalanches from coming into areas in which people live. I really enjoyed this project as it was a lot of work outside and even though it was exhausting we had a lot of fun doing it.

I work as a teacher for almost 8 years now and I enjoy working with people.

As a scout leader I gained skills like making fire, cooking on it, setting up camp and also how to build tables or shelter with woodlogs.

In my holidays I love to experience new things. For example we travelled to Sri Lanka where we helped in homes for elderly and disabled people, we did a rafting tour on the Sambesi river in Africa and paddled along the Yukon. We did several trekking trips and multiple day hikes in Italy, Slovenia and Iceland. So I know how to pack a backpack and to differentiate between important and not so important luggage.

I also plan on refreshing my riding skills. I was taking riding lessons regularly when I was a child and a teenager, but I haven't been riding for some years now. So I will contact stables again to see if I can refresh my skills there.
