  • Description

    Hello !
    I am Hugo, 27 M from France.

I am looking to travel and share experiences with people during the summer. Any type of work or experiences are welcome, I am not afraid of learning, far from it.

After a working holiday visa in Japan and personal challenges, I want to live life fully and bring joy into other people's lives !

    About myself :

In terms of sports I love everything that makes me go outside (cycling, hiking, running, swimming...).

I used to be an avid reader (Tolkien, CS Lewis, Licia Troisi) and I have been coming back to reading (Terry Pratchett, Franz Kafka, non fiction).
Recently, I grew interested in gathering, and trying to note on my phone which plants are edible or not, recognising trees during my hikes and learning about forestry.
And I'm also open to any type of skills such as handcrafting, tinkering, carpentry, agriculture.

Again, I am open and eager to learn from you :)

I have a bachelor's and master's degree in languages/international trade. I am going back to school in october, in a business school to do a MSc in Supply Chain Management.

I can communicate in english without any problems !
I also speak french (native) and some chinese and japanese. I would love to learn any other language this summer.

In general the people I worked with said I am cooperative and good at diplomacy. I respect authority and my main goal is to work together to achieve our goal.

I am also good at cooking, I love animals and am willing to learn new skills.
As a newbie in DIY, handcrafting or gardening, I remain more than willing to learn new skills ! I am a fast learner with a great capacity to adapt.

Also, a lot of people told me I am great at photography. I usually have a good eye for everything still, scenery, animals, nature, monuments. I am not great for selfies or people though. I do not have a big camera for now, but if you have one I can take great pictures for you.
(I posted a few of my best pictures in my photos, on my profile).

I am available as soon as possible up to mid-september.

    Nice to meet you !

Plus de détails sur les langues qui m'intéressent
French : native I can absolutely teach you french, if you want ! This is a difficult but beautiful language. I would be happy to share it. English : Fluent/bilingual I have been speaking some degree of english since I was born, thanks to a very international (british) environment. My parents are french but a lot of their friends are british, and even if I'm not the exact definition of bilingual (native) I have a deep connection to the english language thanks to my surroundings. I love to speak it and teach it. Mandarin Chinese : intermediate I learnt manadarin chinese in university, but because of covid I never got to go to mainland china. I went to Hong Kong and Taiwan for personnal travels but I never lived there. I'm a bit rusty but I can come back to it. Japanese : beginner/intermediate I learnt japanese during my working holiday visa in Japan. I am around n4 which is high beginner/low intermediate, I can handle most daily conversations in this language. For reading though it's a different story. But I'd be happy to use this language again. Spanish : beginner I only learnt spanish during middle school and high school, but I love Spain. Their culture and history are among the most interesting in Europe in my opinion, and I would love to learn this language now that I am more mature ! Languages I am interested in but with no knowledge : Portuguese, Arabic. If someone can teach me these languages I would be very grateful !

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have previous experience in customer relations :
I worked in a bookshop in England for five weeks, where I helped the manager organise events, manage the social media accounts and train the new interns as soon as I got some experience.

Also in a bank agency for a month where I guided clients, helped them with the till and other simple operations, assisted the counsellors, and answered the phone.

And more recently during my working holiday visa in Japan, I worked for five months in a traditionnal japanese knife shop, as a salesperson. The clients always left very good reviews for me, saying I was reassuring, a good listener and knowledgeable. My HR said that he was satisfied with me because of my cooperative, curious and eager nature.

I have a bachelor's and master's degree in languages/international trade. I am going back to school in october, in business school to do a MSc in Supply Chain Management.

I don't know if its relevant but in videogames I usually choose to be the healer or tank in parties.

I am also good at cooking, I love animals (dogs mainly).

This summer I am not afraid of getting my hands dirty and can do/learn anything.

I have a EU driver's licence but no personal car.

  • Autres infos...

During most of my travels I was accustomed to solo travelling. I am autonomous and a little introverted, but I am looking to try group travel and community life this summer.
