Hello! I'm Hikari, from Japan.

I'm searching for a host in Ireland for about a month between now and the middle of December. I'm very flexible and can come whenever you need me.

After traveling around Ireland for a month, I realized that experiencing local daily life is much more interesting than just being a tourist. Through volunteering, I'd like to improve my English, communicate with people from different countries, learn their culture and ways of thinking.

Actually I was trying to swim around Japan and I've already swam over 1,600km, about 30% of the coastline of major islands of Japan in the past 6 years. The idea was whole new, nobody has completed or even tried. Many people including local TV programs and newspapers supported me but I suddenly lost the interest in swimming last summer. I was so confused and wondered the reason why. I found that it was maybe because I wanted some new experience. Swimming in the sea is exciting but sometimes boring, I swim about 8 hours and sleep in my tiny van alone every day. So I decided to take a break from swimming, go abroad for my first time.

I'm interested in trying something new. I've experienced various kinds of jobs in various parts of Japan so I'm good at adapting to new environments. I'm excited about what I can find at the next place!

I like cooking and am interested in learning cooking. Of course I can cook some Japanese food for you if you like!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm a seasonal worker in Japan and have had various experiences.

In Spring, I work as a cook in a kitchen for construction workers. It's a good experience, I cook food for 100 people every day.

In Summer, I work at a restaurant as a server. All the guests like my kind and polite service with a smile. Keeping the restaurant comfortable for guests is one of the most important jobs so I'm good at tidying up and cleaning.

In Autumn, I work at a salmon roe factory. The job is hard work, butchering heavy and bloody fish, ankle deep in icy water but it's like a trip to the gym. I like moving my body.

In Winter, I work at a brown sugar factory in the southern islands of Japan. The job is also hard work and I need to lift up 30kg boxes of sugar, but I enjoy bodyboarding after work.
