Hello everyone!
I am a student in my second year at university studying Biology in the UK. I recently completed my first Workaway where I solo travelled to Thailand to work at an animal clinic near Pattaya. This opportunity was fantastic and has inspired me to complete further Workaway's to make a difference and experience new cultures around the World.
I love being surrounded by nature and enjoy doing any sports in the outdoors such as cycling and climbing. I live in Sheffield where the Peak District is part of the city so wild camping is something I try to do frequently! I love adventures, particularly bike-packing and hitchhiking. I hope to complete some bigger trips this summer.
Working with kids is also something I enjoy and have lots of experience in . At university I volunteer with a group where I organise and run activity nights such as games or crafts each week. I also go into schools and teach science to children. I have mostly worked with young kids (ages 6-10) but am always up to helping out with other age groups.
At home I own 2 greyhounds so have experience looking after dogs. My Workaway at the animal clinic gave me further experience treating sick animals by caring for wounds and delivering medication. Along with this I worked with young puppies and aggressive dogs so can manage a broad range of animals.
I am passionate about conservation and would love to help preserve habitats and species. I would like to learn more about species native to another country and work to protect them. As part of my course at university I am interested in marine biology and palaeontology so hope to explore these interests and gain experience working in these sectors through volunteering.
I am a hard worker, fast learner and willing to try anything new. I have helped out with cleaning, building furniture, painting and gardening before, although not experienced I am always happy to lend a hand!
I look forward to hearing from you,
Hazel :)Centres d’intérêt
