Hello :)
My name is Hannah and I would like to learn from your culture while solo backpacking. Also, I am keen to learn new skills and to try out different working lifestyles !

I am passionate about singing and dancing, preventive- and emergency medicine. I also enjoy cooking, writing, sewing, gardening, hiking, sketching and have a love for detail and nature. My friends and family would describe me as authentic and primarily calm, while also sociable and open to try something new, especially traditional arts and food.
I am 21 years old and lived in Vienna, Austria before travelling. There, I worked at a restaurant and volunteered as an EMT (emergency medical technician) and vet assistant.
Also, I was able to get the experience to work as an Au Pair, and twice as a Woofer on a herbal and vegetable farm in France. On this trip, I volunteered at a hostel in Thailand and a hotel in Laos. After helping out an elderly person in the countryside in Japan, I am now working at a buddhist meditation centre in South Korea.

I started my trip in February with the intention to try out different lifestyles and learn about new perspectives. I've always been fascinated by the idea of living with locals and learning about their culture because I feel like that's one of the only ways to truly experience a country. To me, that's what travelling is really about.
I know, that hosting workawayers isn't always easy, so I try to adapt to your lifestyle as much as possible. A respectful communication is key for a nice environment :)

I hope to meet kind people, as well as to have a cultural exchange and to be able to give something back to the local community 🫶🏼

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

-My first volunteering experience was on the ambulance, so I know proper first aid, rescue and teamwork.

-As a Woofer I worked on fields, so i did sowing, planting, harvesting, watering and weeding. At the herbal farm I worked at, we dried the herbs and flowers and made products like tea or essential oils together to later sell them on a farmers market. On the vegetable farm there were also dogs and chickens to take care of.

-Last September I started volunteering at a vet for homeless people's pets and it was a really rewarding experience. There, I learned how to assist the vets, I cleaned, documented and took care of the animals.

-In the hostel that I worked at, I was responsible for managing bookings, checking in guests and giving out tourist information. At the hotel I had similar tasks, including a bit of cleaning and maintaining the rooms.

-For the whole June, I volunteered for an elderly person in the japanese countryside. My chores consisted of house maintenance, cooking and gardening.

- As of now, I am at a buddhist meditation centre in South Korea, helping by farming and kitchen related work.

-I am also experienced in cat- and dog sitting in Vienna and Japan.

-I speak german, english, slovene, french and understand a bit of spanish.
