The young man from Lithuania left a truly wonderful impression from the very beginning. He was thoughtful in his work, always approaching tasks with care and intention. He is also a dedicated learner—he reads books and shows a genuine curiosity, which reflects his intelligence.

One day, we happened to visit a local café and became friends with … read more the people there. We invited them over to our guesthouse for a potluck dinner, sang karaoke together using the guesthouse TV, and had a great time. During karaoke, he became the life of the party—taking charge, hyping everyone up, and creating a fun atmosphere. I loved that about him—he can be serious and responsible, but also knows how to let loose and enjoy himself.

In terms of work, he never limited himself by the clock. He would always say, “I’ll work until a good stopping point,” and gave his full effort every time. For the potluck dinner, instead of preparing something cheap or easy, he insisted on making a traditional Lithuanian dish. He carefully chose the ingredients and paid attention to every detail. It really showed how kind and sincere he is.

What impressed me even more was how kind and considerate he was outside of work hours. If he noticed I was busy, he would immediately offer to help. If I was carrying something heavy, he would quickly say, “Let me carry that for you.” His attentiveness came naturally, and it always touched me. Even with simple tasks like washing dishes—though I told him he didn’t need to—he would insist, “No, I’ll do it,” and take initiative without being asked. That kind of kindness is rare and truly appreciated.

Of course, being young, there are still many things he doesn’t know yet. I shared with him a bit about the Akashic Records, the origins of Japanese shrines, and the invisible spiritual world. I hope some part of it resonated with him. Even if it doesn't make sense to him now, I believe he may come to understand it one day.

And most importantly, on his last day—though he had to leave before 7am—he still made the effort to come to our home to say goodbye and thank us in person. Many people leave quietly without a word, but not him. I was deeply moved by his sincerity and good manners.

He truly is a wonderful young man. I hope our paths will cross again someday.

And finally, I want to say this to him: You absolutely must come back one day. This is a place you can always return to—your home away from home.

Everything was great – got to contribute to restoring an old house. There were many tasks, therefore it was not boring, and I learned a thing or two about DIY. I was very well fed, and we cooked together so I learned how to make a couple of Japanese meals. Thank you, Simona.
