  • Description

    Hello, my name is Midori.
I came to Denmark to study at a folk high school (Folkehøjskole) with a focus on democracy and community life. Before coming to Denmark, I studied art intensively and then worked for four years at a high-end jewelry shop, where I was involved in both selling and buying.

I truly love art — not only viewing it, but also creating it. I believe art is connected to many different fields, so my skills can be shared in various ways and hopefully bring something enjoyable and meaningful to you and your place.

Travel has always been a big part of my life. Thanks to my family, I have visited more than 20 countries since childhood and enjoyed outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing, and horse riding. Because of this, I also feel very connected to nature.

In Denmark, I stayed at two different folk high schools over the course of a year. There, I explored creativity through textiles and ceramics, and also immersed myself in philosophy and psychology, sharing thoughts and perspectives with others. At the same time, I enjoyed more physical activities such as sailing, yoga, and DIY. Through gardening, learning about sustainability, and taking care of animals (the school had sheep, chickens, ducks, and rabbits!), I became deeply interested in finding balanced ways of living in harmony with the world.

I can cook for myself, and if you are interested in Japanese food, I would be happy to cook some typical Japanese dishes when there is an opportunity (nothing too complicated!). I have also traveled to all 47 prefectures of Japan, so if you are curious about Japan, I would love to share stories, ideas, and hidden gems with you.

Now that my school experience has come to an end, I am really looking forward to meeting new people, discovering new places, and sharing meaningful experiences — perhaps with you.

Because I love Japanese and English so much, I haven't had the experience to learn many different languages, but I would like to learn and communicate more of the subtle nuances of these two.

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My strongest skills are in metal crafting and drawing. I’m also confident with fine handwork, painting, digital visual design and photography. I love anything creative.

I have a driver’s license in Japan, but it’s not an international license and I usually only used an electric scooter in daily life.

While I don’t have any formal experience in gardening, I used to paint botanical illustrations as a hobby—so I’m quite good at identifying plants and observing the small details in nature.

Back in Japan, I had a dog, and I absolutely love being around animals and taking care of them.
