Description

Hi! My name is Gianmaria, but my friends call me Jimmy. Curiously, I am a workawayer that has never been abroad before the age of 23. One day I have just packed my bags for Finland and that is where it all started. That experience had completely changed my life. Among all the new things I have learned, I realized that I not only feel comfortable in a multicultural environment but that I genuinely enjoy it. From that moment on, I want to travel as much as possible and meet all sorts of people. After my master's degree in economics, I have been a volunteer in Tanzania with an Italian NGO. Thanks to Workaway, I have lived two wonderful adventures: I have been in a farm in Canada for four months and in Andalucía for one month. My latest work experience, lasted one year and ended this August, has been in a research hospital in the south of Italy, as an administrative assistant.

P.S. My first time in a hostel was in Catania, in 2020. I was immediately struck by the atmosphere and the idea that comes with it: solo travellers, coming from all over the world, uniting in one place to share their stories and spend some time together. That's why, whenever I had the chance, I stayed in hostels during my trips in the last three years (in Seville, Sofia, Jerusalem, Toronto and Tirana just to name a few).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

While in Ontario, I helped to maintain two large gardens (harvesting and processing crops) and assisted with construction projects such as roof replacement and trim installation. In Spain, instead, I was involved in all kinds of outdoor and indoor chores, from collecting wood to cleaning the boiler room. In general, I can be suitable for most of the jobs that include physical work. I am also able to help with the cooking (to a certain extent). I am a hardworking and proactive person that always accepts new challenges with enthusiasm. Italian is my mother tongue. I am fluent in English.

P.S. As I mention in the description, I would be highly interested in working in a hostel. I believe I could be always productive and motivated in such an environment since, from what I have experienced, that is a place in which I feel at ease.
