Description
Hi!
My name is Giacomo and I'm 18. I finished high school last year, and before going back to school, I decided to take a gap year. I plan to travel, discover new countries and cultures, learn a language, and above all, meet unforgettable people. Those are my goals for this gap year! That's why I decided to create an account on Workaway, hoping that it will allow me to have enriching experiences abroad.
Who am I? I grew up in a small village in Alsace, France, near Germany and Switzerland, with my parents and a lovely dog. My father has always lived here, but my mother is Italian, from Milan. That's why Italian is my mother tongue, the first language I learned. I never had any difficulties at school, but when I was 13, we moved to Milan for a year. I had to adapt to a new school system, make new friends, and build a new life in a big city. Now, this dual culture is part of my personality and is an asset in my daily life.
The search for adventure and discovery is what drives me. Since I was very young, my dream has been to travel the world, and Workaway is giving me the opportunity to do just that!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Firstly, I would say that I am athletic and physically resilient. I am capable of intense physical effort and can perform tasks that require exertion.
Secondly, I am someone who can live with little, who knows how to be satisfied with the bare necessities. In this respect, I know how to adapt to different situations and the unexpected, and I have no problem facing new challenges.
When it comes to human relations, I've never had any problems. I think I'm able to fit in easily. In my opinion, dialogue is the basis of any good relationship and, above all, it allows us to resolve any disagreements. It is therefore the foundation of friendships and encounters we may have. Talking allows us to get to know each other and learn to live together better. Moreover, when it comes to human relations, I have always been comfortable with children: I like to play with them and spend time together. Maybe deep down I have kept the soul of a child...
Finally, I don't have much professional experience yet, having just left school. However, this summer I worked for a month in a mountain refuge as a waiter. It was a small family business in Italy that produced milk and cheese from their cows and prepared meals using farm produce. I also spent two weeks helping with the grape harvest in Alsace, a renowned wine-growing region in France. These experiences, however small, demonstrate my motivation to work and my desire to discover new professions.

Régime alimentaire spécial
I don't usually eat meat for ethical reasons but I make many exceptions and don't follow a strict diet. I try to be careful when choosing meat in terms of its origin and quality. I think the most important thing is the quantity and quality of what we eat.
