Hello! :)
Firstly, the weird stuff - I like to tidy up around the house! Keeping a clean and neat house and cooking makes me feel very happy (and maybe like I have some life control? HAHA) OK, I make jokes too.
But seriously, I do enjoy seeing the end result of my work :)

OK, now the normal stuff:
I love to laugh and have good conversations with others, and you will find me friendly, polite and happy to help!
I enjoy cooking very much - you have been warned! ;-) Sharing cultural meals is a lot of fun, and I love to learn new skills. I have experience in cooking meat dishes, vegetarian and vegan meals.

I am from Australia and have lived in the "outback" country (as we call it!) with dogs (Border Collies and Kelpie sheep dogs), and helped to plant fruit trees, looked after ducks, chickens and horses, so I am quite fit and love to explore and adventure.
I also have lived in Australia's largest cities (Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane) and understand capital city life.
I adopted a rescue cat, as I love animals, and she is living the best life in Sydney now.

I have a passion for creating little videos and stories of adventure, which led me to creating a Youtube Channel recently to share my discoveries of joy - do check it out if you would like to get to know me a little more and see parts of Australia:

As I am almost 6-feet tall, I can help reach the hard-to-get places and I often help shoppers get items from the top shelf in the store HA!

Currently I am living in Saudi Arabia. as I love to travel, meet new people and learn many perspectives :)

I enjoy sharing ideas and knowledge, contributing to communities and I would love to learn other languages (German, Spanish and Turkish are on my list to learn!).

It was a pleasure to have Laura in the programme. She is a hardworking and friendly person and gave the most out of her during the programme in December. She was a great volunteer and we would love to have her back in another programme. Highly recommended.

Amazing place, guests, host and fellow workers! :)
The location is a walk from the main attractions, shops and the park, so don't fear getting lost!
There is a wonderful vintage feel to the building, and I loved the marble floors and wooden furniture in the guest house. The work is not hard, and is enjoyable, as it is a lovely place to work in… read more

What an amazing experience! Lukas has been a welcoming host, giving you a lot of freedom to help out and learn how to look after the family of 16 gorgeous huskies. Having a host with a great sense of humour, who sings cool songs with you and allows you to take responsibility for activities and feeding & games with the dogs is just brilliant!… read more You'll also meet Birgit (Lukas's girlfriend) who is so friendly, fun to be around and is great to talk to :)
I also met another WorkAwayer, Mike, who has lots of experience helping Lukas. Mike also taught me a lot about each of the huskies, and he's a patient teacher, great to chat to and is fun on car-trips :)

The chickens are friendly and lay eggs in time for breakfast - how cool is that? Just show them some love, feed and water them and they'll love ya' back!
I was lucky enough to be entered in Lukas's team in the International Husky Races in Austria! 4 days of camping out in a tent with all of the huskies outside, racing for 2 days, winning places and being part of the team was an experience I'll never forget! Thank you so much for the chance of experiencing this in my lifetime - I loved it! :) Angel was such an awesome running companion!

You may also be fortunate enough to help out groups of school kids and adults who come to meet the team as part of the human therapy and learning journey. Seeing kids laugh and come out of their shell, loving the dogs, is just amazing.
Each husky has such a beautiful personality, and if you stay long enough, you'll learn their individual styles, where they loved being scratched, what makes their back-leg kick (lol!) and you'll work out who loves eating worming tablets ;) hahaha. Duke is the best mouse-catcher around - you've been warned for when you take him on hikes! ;)

I had the pleasure of being able to cook in the kitchen, and was made to feel welcome to bake apple cinnamon muffins and lots of schnitzel, so I was very happy cooking here for everyone with every chance I could! Haha - I hope nobody got too fat from it all? LOL :)

As soon as I left, I missed each husky (I told Mike I wanted to pack Laska and Arthur in a bag with me - shhh! Don't tell Lukas! Ha!), and I also missed waking up each day to a friendly bunch of welcoming housemates!

Many thanks - love you guys! I'll be back *uses very bad Austrian accent like Arnie* ;)

(PS. Just a tip: If you bring a gift, don't buy alcohol - Lukas does not drink! But he loves good chocolate ;) Woohoo!)
