Description

I joined workaway to gain skills such as house renovation and organic farming, and to be useful in projects that will inspire me. I would use such skills in renovating a ruin and cultivating land that I inherited in a beautiful spot close to the Tâmega river in north of Portugal.

I am an electrical engineer, but work as a researcher mostly using software so unfortunately have no experience in electrical installations. I like physical work, sometimes help in forest bush cleaning. I have done volunteering in an organic farm for three weeks, which I truly enjoyed.

I love to travel by bicycle and dream about combining this mode of transportation with long-term volunteering. For now, I have no possibility of doing long-term periods of volunteering, so I am looking for places close to my my home where I could help during weekends.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I like to get my hands dirty. I enjoy forest and bush clearing. I can use mechanical tools to clear brambles for instance.

I did volunteering in an organic farm for three weeks and I enjoyed very much to feed the animals (pigs, chickens) and to harvest veggies to cook. Everyone enjoys when I cook but I always get a bit stressed about other people's expectations.

I love planting trees and also sprouting them in a nursery, transplant, etc
