Description

Hi, my name is Esmée, I am 22 and I am very excited for my first Workaway experience!
Right now, I am taking a gap year from studying musicology and psychology at the University of Utrecht (the Netherlands).
In this gap year, I want to learn about other ways of life: more organic, more surrounded with nature, and to really connect with other people.
For a long time, I've been fascinated with the French language and culture, and I cannot wait to travel via Workaway and see the country with the most interesting history, cities and art from upclose.
I have a strong passion for music and would love to learn more about the French way of music making.
I would also love to upgrade my cooking skills: to learn about the French gastronomy, to cook with products from the area maybe, and acquire the real French taste ;)

All in all, I cannot wait for this journey to begin and to hear about the stories you have to tell.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have lots of experience in the cultural sector as a performer as well as an employee: I've sang in choirs, musicals, operas and as a soloist at many concerts, and worked a couple of times at festivals as a crew member.
At the moment, I'm one of the board members of my student choir, responsible for PR and organizing concerts. I think these organisational skills come in handy at your home!
I also have lots of experience with children because of my part-time job as a substitute teacher at a high school, where I take up all kinds of subjects and meet new students everytime. This job made me love children even more and I am convinced we can learn so much from them.
