I want to climb all the mountains I can. I've always been drawn to new experiences, to push myself outside of what's comfortable and familiar. Being disconnected from my regular life --not knowing what's next --is exhilarating. I've taken every opportunity to visit new places in the world and integrate into local culture. Working in animal sanctuaries, cultural integration programs, hostels, and national parks have been the most fulfilling experiences of my life. This year I will be graduating from University, I'm making the most of the coming months: learning new skills, diving into novel experiences, and soaking up as much local life, culture, and language as I can.

What I've learned through my travels is that the most meaningful connections form when I contribute my skills and energy to the places that welcome me. The exchange of knowledge, stories, and daily work creates an incredible sense of belonging that less involved experiences can't quite match.

Wherever I go, I want to learn new ways of living and become part of a community.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

• Spanish: I have learned a lot of Spanish in my previous travel experiences, but I haven't kept up with it as much as I would like to. I hope to practice more and learn to understand and communicate with more confidence.

• Manual Labor and Building: I've done yard work and basic carpentry for years. I've worked a variety of odd jobs: painting, deck-building, and manual labor. I have had to renovate the animals enclosures operate a variety of power tools. I'm no carpenter, but I can help design and build, and I'm eager to learn more.

• Event Planning: I worked with BAIS Argentina for a summer planning events for locals and tourists to meet and socialize. The events ranged from bar crawls, to walks in the park, to food tours around Buenos Aires. Leading the events meant not only planning, but also attending and helping attendees meet and have a good time.

• Cleaning: As a part of a big family, I'm no stranger to cleaning and organizing. I know how to wash and fold laundry, make beds, sweep/mop floors, wash windows, and scrub showers. I also clean a mean toilet.

• Cooking: Though I'm not exactly a gourmet, I love to cook for my friends and family. Discovering a new recipe and trying until I get it right is tremendously rewarding to me, and I'd love to learn more!

• Computers: I'm very comfortable working with computers and am good at problem-solving when things aren't running smoothly.

• Tutoring and Teaching: In a variety of capacities (e.g., robotics, tutoring, camp counselor), I've taught people how to use tools, gather information, think creatively, and solve problems. As a peer tutor, I taught people everything from Algebra, to coding, to soldering, to circuitry.

• Animal Care and Facility Maintenance: Much of my travel experience has involved working with animals. I've learned that just as important as the animals themselves is taking care of the enclosures they live in. This work involved cleaning, repairs, building enrichment items, and ensuring safe environments for both animals and visitors.

• Friendly and Professional: A natural extrovert, I have loved volunteering in settings where it's important to be proactive, outgoing, and welcoming (e.g. hostel volunteer, campground caretaker, server). I enjoy meeting new people and can adapt to different social and cultural contexts.

• Dependable and Hardworking: I understand that communities rely on everyone doing their part. I take commitments seriously and follow through on tasks I've agreed to complete. I'm willing to put in extra effort when needed and can work independently or as part of a team. I take initiative when I see something that needs to be done and am comfortable with physical work and early mornings.
