I’m interested in permaculture and living on a farm with animals and a community. I’d also like to improve my crafting skills.

Description

I already had two wonderful Workaway experiences in Portugal with a friend back in 2024. This time, I’d like to travel on my own, and my only available time is during my summer vacation since I work at an elementary school. I currently work there as an inclusion assistant, helping the children with both their studies and their social skills. The years before I studied to become a teacher, but I don’t want to work in that field right now and am trying to figure out what’s right for me in the future. I live in a six-person shared apartment and know and love life in and with a community; cooking, working, and being creative together fulfills me greatly. I also love being outside in nature all day and don’t mind getting dirty. I love animals and hope to one day live on a farm with chickens, dogs...I’d love to learn more about permaculture and am also looking forward to developing my hands-on skills. I’m always happy to pitch in!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have experience primarily in educational and social work; in the past, I’ve worked as a teacher and an experiential educator. I’ve also worked as an inclusion assistant for individuals, where I helped people with disabilities with household tasks like cooking, etc.
Otherwise, I really enjoy cooking (mostly vegetarian), and my roommates always love my cake creations and sourdough bread :) Last year, I had a small vegetable garden with some friends, and I’d say I have a basic understanding of gardening, though there’s definitely room for improvement.
During previous Workaways, I’ve worked in the kitchen and in service, but I’ve also helped with home renovations. I’m excited to try new things and learn.

I'd say I'm a flexitarian, so I eat meat and fish very, very rarely; most of the time, I follow a vegan or vegetarian diet.
