Hi ! My name is Emily and i'm 20 years old.


I would like to travel all over Japan to discover the Japanese's way of living. I'm learning japanese language and civilization with my degree. I have N4 level and soon to be N3.

Workaway is a great opportunity to me to mix to things i love the most, learning Japanese language and taking care of animals. Since i grew up with animals I'm used to cats, dogs, rabbits, goldfishs... In France i have 2 dogs and 4 cats.

When i lived without my parents during two years in Paris i did some pet-sitting in my appartement. I'm fine with house chores because i am a bit maniac (in the good way).

By the way, I'm used of giving medicines to pets when the owners cannot do it because i worked a few weeks as an assistant to the veterinary.

I actually love to go to a walk with a dog for 10KM. I find this relaxing and need to walk that much at least once a day ! I often went in the woods with my dogs for few hours and then they would sleep well !

I can teach you french and English (if you are below the level C1). It would be fun to try teaching since it already did some teaching at my first host café. I want to become a teacher in the future. I would love to have someone teach me japanese or chinese

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I learn fast since i am hardworking. I want to do things well. Thanks to my parents i was always with animals so i can take care of young but also older pets. I have a driver licence so i could go if your busy to a vet appointement.

I can also detect easly some wrong being to your pet. I had few cats who had coryza for example so i know few symptoms like that. As i said before, I did pet-sitting during two years and some cats were really annoyed to be put in the cage for their transport so i know a way to put the cat without trouble.

I have enough strength to walk to dogs at the same time and to walk big dogs since my two dogs in France are different size (an Americana shepherd and a Belgian malinois shepherd).

I did some volunteering in France in an animal shelter. It was a hard work but it was worth it. I loved to help cats or dogs who were scared. I had the patience to make them trust me day by day.

To conclude, I am fluent in English (even tho it isn't my native language so i may have a french accent). I can also speak a bit japanese but to be honest, my oral comprehension isn't that good. I will do my best to improve !

I have some interest in Japanese sociology such as the difference between Japan and France. I also love activities such as ikebana, origami, sumi-e, ukiyo-e, shodô... (even tho i am not good at it). I would like to go to matsuri and explore traditional way of living.
I like to ride horses (it's been a while since i've done it). I also like to do sport like fitness or skying. i enjoy swimming, ride a bike or walking. I prefer the countryside and if there is animals it would be awesome.
I worked in a bank few months ago so i would like to experiment again a work where i can have a good relationship with the staff and the clients.
As everyone I always crave for a good meal !
