Hi, I'm Emily! Canadian mother of two, 12 (boy) & 8 (girl), who are all embarking on a year of travel, adventure and service for 2026. We are joining WorkAway to find meaningful, safe and community-based projects or communities to give our time and energy to as we travel along our planned route.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Myself, I am a highly adaptable single mom, who has skills and experience in teaching, organization, project management, caregiving, creative problem solving, and I'm learning energy-based healing modalities. I love working with people and I'm able to help with child care, administrative tasks, community outreach, basic hospitality, and learning focused activities. My 12 year old son enjoys hands-on work, simple tech tasks, video editing and helping with animals; my 8 year old daughter loves creative play, gentle gardening tasks and connecting with younger children. As a family, we will approach every placement with kindness, curiosity and a willingness to learn and help where needed.

What else we would like hosts to know about us:
-We will be traveling slowing and intentionally, valuing connection, cultural exchange, and shared learning over sightseeing
-We will be respectful of home environments, routines, and community rhythms
-I am comfortable with independent tasks and self-directed work, and helping wherever it is needed
-My kids are wonderful little humans who understand that this is about contributing not vacationing
-We enjoy simple living, being outdoors, supporting community projects and engaging with local culture
-We will prioritize kindness, communication, and leaving places better than we found them
-We don't require luxury - a clean, safe sleeping space and a welcoming atmosphere are enough.
