Howdy! I’ve started my newest adventure! What began as a vacation to explore Italy, Greece and Spain, has now become amazing adventure of travelling through as many countries as I can. I am currently doing my first ever workaway up in the Arctic Circle of Sweden. Its so beautiful and peaceful up here. I’m from a city just outside of Dallas, Texas but have traveled and lived all over. But, just because I'm from the city doesn't mean I crave the constant nightlife and stacked schedules. I'm currently in a small village of about 50 people and I've never felt more at home. I'm looking for another place that appreciates the smaller things, not the nonstop shopping and party lifestyle. I’ve been traveling since I was a child and am excited to continue exploring and taking in as many breathtaking views and quaint areas as I can! As far as hobbies go, I love hiking, volunteering with the elderly, animal care, reading, crafting, kayaking, cooking, and creating art.

I know how to sew and have made a few dresses and home decor over the years. I've painted bedrooms, put together furniture and am constantly tidying up if you need any help with home care. I've also grown up with dogs and have lived with cats so I am well versed in animal care as well. :) I also know how to knit a bit and would love to learn how to crochet!

My dad taught me a lot about gardening throughout my life so I know general things about maintaining a garden, growing seeds, re-potting plants and of course watering; but I’d love to learn more about different plants and foraging. I also would love to learn about astronomy, astrophotography, nature photography, and how to play an instrument. I also have a keen interest in anything sciencey so if you’re willing to teach me, I’m ready to learn!

I can’t wait to continue this Workaway experience and look forward to talking with y’all!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’m super handy and love to craft! If there’s something I don’t know, I try my hardest to figure it out. Over the past 6 years I was taking care of my dad who was battling cancer (he’s in remission now! Yay dad!). But in doing that, I was able to learn what it takes to maintain a house, fix some furniture, sew, decorate and paint, cook and care for someone going through physical rehabilitation. I also have been driving for 15 years and have a valid drivers license and insurance. I also have a general knowledge of some car maintenance and know how to change a tire! lol.

In my professional career I’ve been a paralegal, winery marketing consultant, and retail manager. I also have my own bookkeeping business and side gig as a beta reader. I’ll be bringing my laptop with me for the bookkeeping but it usually only occupies an hour or two of my time per day so WiFi would be amazing and greatly appreciated if it’s available!

Im not sure if this is a skill or not but I love people. I care a lot and love to be as helpful as possible. I think kindness is the best policy and love to make new friends!

I love to read and explore nature. My ideal day is spent either curled up with a book in a cozy home or out hiking or exploring new cities. I love arts and crafts and playing with pets. I also love just having a conversation with someone new.
