A little about me:
I'm Hsiao Ting (you can call me Dolly). Originally from Taiwan, I spent 8 years living in Shanghai, China, before moving to the Netherlands 4 years ago. Reflecting on it now, it's still surreal that I moved to a completely new country by myself during COVID—but I made it through! If I can survive that, I can handle anything! 💪

About me & my love for animals & nature
I have an immense love for animals (I talk to every animal I meet! 🐶) and a deep connection to nature. Growing up in a harbor city, being near water always brings me joy. Some of my fondest memories with my family are waking up early to go hiking (initially forced by my parents) , followed by a nice breakfast (well, we are Asians, it’s always about food 🍜). I grew up with dogs, and I believe they are the best companions one could have (well… my brother is probably still the best mate, so don't tell him I said this 🤫).

About my current plan
My career has mostly been in large corporations, but over time, I found myself feeling drained and unhappy. I realized this wasn't the life I deserved, so I decided to follow my heart and change my path. I'm now training to become a professional coach and counselor (online course so I can still do volunteer work), driven by a desire to help people understand and love themselves better—something I wish I had learned when I was younger. Who knew a midlife crisis could be so productive? 😅

About my dream
My ultimate dream is to establish a farm that is self-sufficient with vegetables, fruit trees, and lots of animals. I envision combining my coaching and counseling skills with the natural healing power of nature and animals. This is why I'm eager to find a host farm where I can learn the essential skills of gardening, planting, and caring for farm animals. One day, I hope to make this dream a reality, creating a place where people can find themselves and discover answers through the beauty of nature and the companionship of animals. And who knows, maybe I'll finally learn how to grow a tomato that doesn't look like from a horror movie! 🍅

I wish we can grow something together—where dreams take root, laughter is abundant, and a place where flowers, trees, and animals can smile! 🌻

Although I don't have specific experience in gardening, planting, or working with farm animals, I am incredibly eager to learn. My strong work ethic, adaptability, and creative problem-solving, combined with my passion, will enable me to quickly pick up new tasks and contribute effectively. Plus, I promise not to talk to animals... too much! 🐾

Relevant Experience
• Volunteer Work: In 2023, I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at a vineyard near Naples, Italy. Harvesting grapes and helping with wine processing was a beautiful experience that strengthened my commitment to supporting local communities. I cherished the moments of sharing food, wine, and laughter after a hard day's work. Who knew grape juice could be so magical? 🍇
• Travel Experience: Traveling to over 30 countries has been a privilege that has opened my eyes to the richness of diverse cultures. Discovering new aspects of myself and the world through travel has been incredibly fulfilling. 🌍

Professional Skills:
With 25 years in the corporate world, specializing in market research and strategy for consumer goods, I've honed my ability to take initiative, creative problem-solving, and work harmoniously with people from all cultures. If you need someone to strategize the best way to promote the farm, I'm your person! 📊

Personal Traits:
• Adaptability: I thrive on change and am quick to adapt to new environments and learn new skills. I believe enthusiasm and persistence can overcome any challenge. 🌱
• Problem-Solving: Tackling challenges and finding creative solutions while staying positive is my secret weapon. If there's a problem, I'll find a way to solve it—probably with a smile and a glass of wine. 🍷

So while I may not have extensive experience, my enthusiasm for nature and animals is boundless. 🌿
