Les activités qui m'intéressent :

I am interested in ancient cultures, genealogy, and wildlife conservation. I try to manage my carbon footprint as I would like all those who come after to enjoy Earth's natural beauty as I have done.

Description

As a newly retired science teacher, I find myself with good health and a curiosity to continue my education by working alongside workaway hosts and other workawayers.
I have traveled with many different foci. I have participated in climate change research in the Arctic, indicator species research in the Tetons and have done a few home exchanges with families in France and England.
I am an avid naturalist and stay fit so I can enjoy activities out of doors. I love to ski, hike, and most recently, kayaking and playing pickleball. I putter in my home garden and managed one at school.
As a result of quarantining, I started drawing and painting. A skill I never knew I possessed.
I live a clean lifestyle and I try to keep my mind fit as well. I read mostly history and informational texts, though I do indulge in novels via Audible.
My most recent trip abroad was to Scotland where I hunted down Pictish Stones in cow fields and remote islands. What fun!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Being of a certain age, I have acquired many skills. I recently retired from teaching science in a public school. Now it's time to satisfy my curiosity by seeing how other cultures live, work and play. I have experience and education in animal care, gardening, fitness and swim instruction, health care, sewing, cooking, child care, house rehab, design and decorating. I believe since remote teaching, my computer skills are above average. Recently, I built a website for my ski club by teaching myself WordPress.

I consider myself a life-long learner who is eager to immerse myself in a community instead of being a tourist looking in.
My host will benefit from my work ethic, patience, cheerfulness, creativity, intelligence, sense of humor and ability to communicate and empathize with people of all ages.
I am very active and fit so I can enjoy skiing, hiking, kayaking, swimming, biking, birdwatching and pretty much anything out of doors.
