Description
Hello, I'm David, a teacher in the UK. I am happiest when outdoors and making things, or walking in the countryside where I live with my wife and three children. I work in a specialist school for children with autism and I have worked in education for 20 years. I am a practical person and I can turn my hand to most do-it-yourself jobs. When a job needs to be done outside, I can happily work for hours without interruption, as long as there's an occasional cup of tea to keep me going. I am an environmentalist at heart and I believe in reducing our impact on the natural world.
I have spent the majority of my life in the UK but I have lived in Australia and Italy when I was younger. I am new to the 'Workaway' website but I would like to help like-minded people in their projects to improve their local environment. I like to think people regard me as a hard-working, practical and collaborative person who likes to share a joke and someone who takes pleasure in seeing a job done well.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I am a teacher (a deputy Headteacher). I have taught English in UK schools for 20 years and I have taught English when living in Italy.
I am fit and able to carry out hard work requiring manual labour.
I own property in the UK and I can operate heavy machinery such as mechanical diggers.
I can do DIY jobs to good standard such as painting, tiling, basic construction and plumbing. I own a property with a number of trees and I can handle a chainsaw.
I can drive cars, trucks and vans, and I have a full motorbike license.

I like to run and keep fit, spend time working in the garden, cycle, and take my dog for long walks. I help coach my son's football team and I occasionally play rugby for my local side.
