Hi! I'm Dan, a 26-year-old from Manchester in the UK with a background in psychology and education. I'm at a point in life where I've decided to take a step back from the traditional career ladder and spend some time exploring the world, learning practical skills, and meeting interesting people.

What motivates me most is curiosity. I love learning how other people live, picking up new skills, and throwing myself into experiences that are completely different from my everyday life. Some of my happiest memories come from travelling through South America, where every day brought a new place, a new conversation, or a new challenge. I'm hoping to capture some of that same sense of adventure through Workaway.

I'm especially interested in rural life, vineyards, farms, sustainability projects, animals, gardening, and hands-on work. I'd love to learn more about winemaking, food production, and caring for the land, but I'm equally happy helping with general maintenance, DIY projects, cleaning, painting, cooking, or whatever needs doing. I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty and genuinely enjoy feeling like I've contributed something useful at the end of the day.

Friends would describe me as calm, easy-going, reliable, and thoughtful. I get on well with people from different backgrounds and enjoy good conversations over dinner or around a campfire, but I'm also perfectly happy spending quiet time reading, hiking, exploring nature, or taking in a beautiful view.

Outside of travel, I enjoy hiking, running, climbing, strategy games, history, science, languages, and trying new foods. I've been learning Spanish for a while and would love the chance to practise it, but I'm always interested in learning about any language or culture.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a background in psychology, education and support roles, so I'm confident communicating with people, staying organised and taking responsibility. I've worked with children and young adults with additional needs, and I'm patient, approachable and happy adapting to different situations. I also have a TEFL qualification and enjoy meeting people from different cultures and helping others learn.

I'm practical and always willing to get stuck in. I've helped my parents over the years with DIY, decorating, furniture assembly, basic maintenance and gardening, and I'm happy doing physical outdoor work. I enjoy being active and learning by doing, whether that's helping on a farm, caring for animals, maintaining a property or assisting with general day-to-day tasks. I'm reliable, tidy and eager to pick up new skills, especially anything related to vineyards, sustainability or rural life.
