Hello! I am Alex, (28 years old) I'm a curious, open-hearted, and easygoing person who loves discovering more of the world while taking part in meaningful projects and shared adventures.

I adore arts & creative projects , being close to nature ( hiking!) , myseums, pedagogy , psychology, food , singing , biking, animals (especially cats and chickens) and reading. any skills someone wants to teach me, I will work hard and happily. I’m deeply interested by people’s stories and enjoy exploring a wide range of subjects.
I am a very honest person who communicates clearly and once I understand the job, I will do it with a lot of care.

I have years of creative teaching experience with kids (french, maths, history) and I have offered cleaning services to my elderly neighbours for a while so I am thorough.

I recently completed a bachelor in social work and I have been a specialized education teacher for 8 years. I am now taking a gap year.
! I did crisis intervention and family volunteering in different communities in Canada and saw a lot of hardships but stories of victories and resilience too. Now I want to live my own journey of discovery, spread joy , also hoping to find my own peace of mind and grow.

I am also comfortable with decoration-making , simple diy projects, computers (/windows, but less so for apple products) reception work and deep cleaning! I love painting (walls, canvas, signs, rocks, wood, cards,etc..) and crafting different items!

I am currently on a year long trip (August - July) to volunteer across the world and learn from different cultures, environments and skillsets I know nothing about. I can’t wait to meet you and connect.

I can teach french and english with pleasure! :) I would love to learn about any new languages but am currently learning Portuguese (not Brazilian dialect , as I first learned in the Azores) , Spanish , Japanese and know a few words in mandarin thanks to a family I work with.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’m really passionate about connecting with kids through adapted education and creative play and with adults through deep conversations, openness,hard work and shared values.
As a special education teacher and newly social worker, I’ve tutored kids, worked with diverse community/ families/individuals , did some community work /human rights initiative and used creative approaches to engage learning or find hope in harder situations.

I can paint, craft, needle felt, do some basic clothes mending by hand , clean , bake and cook basic cozy vegetarian food (ex. potage, pasta, stir-fry, basic currys , salads, wraps, sautés) . I am also comfortable with digital creations tools, and I enjoy making decorations for events. I have basic first aid training, and I speak French and English fluently, along with some very novice Spanish, Portuguese, and Japanese.

I’m especially eager to learn new skills , especially in hands-on areas like gardening, landwork building, taking care of a farm, etc. I’m always ready to help out as long as the expectations are clear; I am very perseverant in everything I learn.

I love hiking, running and biking, and always maintain an active lifestyle one way or another.

In my rare free times, I also enjoy videogames, geocaching, karaoke, crafting and dungeons & Dragons.

I want to learn about different community, values and beliefs ;I enjoy writing about it and what I learn in my journals, as a keepsake of precious knowledge.

little dreams: I dream to learn an instrument one day , see a whale in person , write my own book and be able to build something myself (other than Ikea furniture or simple craft! 😂)
