I am Christian coming from Brighton in Sussex, UK. Here to explore Europe and its hiking oppertunities. Also to enjoy work and gain skils on the journey. Looking forward to doing some good work.

I spent five years volunteering in Europe. ...Stone work, painting, pointing, puttying, gardening, groundwork, construction and small forestry. ....In the past I worked as an industrial security guard and on a construction site as a labourer on new houses. In this role I am not skilled but have assisted most trades. I enjoy learning ( in a good way), working patiently, interacting and having a laugh. I enjoy work! and volunteering. I do some of the jobs mentioned above to a professional standard. I Like to hike and run on my days off and be productive during work days. Interested in health and safety. I carry a half mask, ear defenders, etc; able to do messy, muddy, physical or dusty jobs if needed.

Studied at art college, enjoy music and art.
I first saw Workaway back in 2002 at the job center in the UK.
I have volunteered full time for five years now and have worked with quite a few hosts including a good few paid positions. More references are available upon request.

As another host reports, Christian doesn't say much, coming over as socially awkward. Once one gets past this Christian is the most solid person one can find, serious, reliable, dedicated, conscientious and focussed. The host makes here good use of Workaway. There are interesting projects for a volunteer and no shortage of tasks to get involved with. Helle (the host) has some good work skills, and made the jobs and interaction interesting. I enjoyed restoring the garden of a place more that a thousand years old half way up a mountain.

It was a pleasure to help Eric and Celine. I was here in winter but was very pleasant. The work was enjoyable and physical. Eric dropped me at the coast on my days off. This is a good place to go to discover the regions of both Belgium and the Netherlands. It is like a Chateau but perhaps smaller and more rustic. They have Aberdeen Angus, sheep, a forest and trails. I volunteered here in early 2024 and enjoyed it very much. All my tasks where fully listed and relayed before I arrived. Nick and Alison's place is set in expansive Greenery with some of the best accommodation. I am from a similar part of the UK to Nick and Alison, so enjoyed their company both at work and socialising.

Christian stayed with us for over 2 months. He did excellent work, painting and gardening. He re-caulked all of the windows in the manoir, sealed and repainted them, a monumental task. Christian is not the type of workawayer who will cost you more time and energy than he gives you. He will actually help you take a few steps forward. He was here with us for 10 days, he helped us paint a room, lay part of a floor, and clear a field. He took the jobs seriously and helped us out quite nicely. Christian was our first hosting experience and it was great!
He was here 3 weeks in summer 2023. He made a perfect "job". The weather was really hot in this time, but he organized his time and work perfectly. All my projects get better with his help. It was a great time, and we'll be happy if we see him again. Christian is always welcome here!
