Description

I have been away in Mexico and Colombia for the last 7 months and am now spending 3 months in Ecuador. I am in South America as I am in love with the cultures and crafts that exist here. I have been studying Spanish and have basic vocabulary that i am continuing to study each day. I am looking to spend time within indigenous communities to gain a deeper understanding and learning of traditional ways of life. I love the outdoors so any work outside within nature and with animals will make me happy. I also really want to feel part of a community and that i am making a meaningful impact or helping people whilst learning and sharing my own skill set.

My skill set ranges from traditional craft processes, material development, making sculpture and furniture from waste materials, teaching art, horse riding and hospitality work. I can be very socialable as well as able to work independently.

He estado en México y Colombia durante los últimos siete meses y ahora paso tres meses en Ecuador. Estoy en Sudamérica porque me apasionan sus culturas y artesanías. Estudio español y tengo un vocabulario básico que sigo perfeccionando a diario. Busco convivir con comunidades indígenas para comprender mejor sus tradiciones y aprender sobre ellas. Me encanta la naturaleza, así que cualquier trabajo al aire libre, en contacto con animales, me hará feliz. También deseo formar parte de una comunidad y contribuir positivamente a la sociedad, aprendiendo y compartiendo mis habilidades.

Mis habilidades abarcan desde técnicas artesanales tradicionales y desarrollo de materiales, hasta la creación de esculturas y muebles con materiales reciclados, la enseñanza de arte, la equitación y el sector de la hostelería. Soy una persona sociable y también capaz de trabajar de forma independiente.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I studied printed textiles at my undergrad and then went on to study Material Futures post graduate - I specialised in material innovation, craft and sculpture. I’m extremely hands on and practical and enjoy working hard on physical projects. I ran / run my own studio and business in London Charlotte Kidger Studio and Studio TIP. I create furniture, sculpture and installation as well as running workshops wit children teaching them about materials and sculpture. I have experience with hand tools and simple construction and knowledge of a vast range of materials. I recently learnt how to weave in Nepal and have been experimenting with electrical cables.

I have lots of experience working with animals from having German shepards and hunting dogs whilst growing up to having my own horses and competing during my teens and early 20s. I would love to work with animals again during my work aways.

I love cooking. I have worked a very fast paced Spanish fish restaurant in London for the last 1.5 years as a manager and host. I love experimenting and trying new dishes and hosting for friends.

I am a beginner with Spanish, very keen to keep learning and practicing wherever possible
