  • Description

Hi! I'm Celina. I am an adventurous, outgoing, cheerful, kind, open-minded girl with a big heart :)

I am quick to smile, I'm an enthusiastic and positive person, and I love making lasting connections with the people I meet. I love animals - especially dogs and horses, but I can't think of any animals (apart from insects) I've met that I didn't like. I also love being outdoors and in nature. It helps me reconnect and recharge, it excites me and it grounds me.

Some of my core values are love & compassion, kindness, freedom & adventures, authenticity & integrity, courage, independence, loyalty & reliability, mindfulness and honesty.

My hobbies include travelling, surfing, hiking, running, yoga, kickboxing, drawing, reading, cooking with friends, baking, listening to music and going on adventures. I love being active, but also need and enjoy some down time now and then. I connect easily with people, but also enjoy my own company and don't mind being alone. I am passionate about my personal development and spirituality, and I'm always willing to learn and grow.

I recently decided to quit my job, because I realised that the best time to follow your dreams and live your best, most authentic life is always now. For me, that means travelling, going on adventures, and finding a way to make a difference, to help make this world a better place. I think Workaway is the perfect medium for that. I look forward to meeting you! ;)

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am creative, sociable, hard-working, adaptable, a quick and eager learner, and I don't mind getting my hands dirty.

I am new to Workaway, but I have volunteered a lot previously. Most recently, I spent 5 weeks volunteering in a Wildlife Sanctuary in Namibia, where I performed various tasks around the animals (feeding, exercising, observing, ...) as well as enclosure cleaning and general maintenance work, like wirebraiding, fixing fences and building a waterhole (mixing cement etc.).

Before that, I spent many weekends and holidays volunteering at a pony farm in Germany, mainly from 2013 to 2018, and occasionally since then. There, I accumulated over 1000 hours in childcare, looking after / managing groups of up to 20 kids, entertaining them, preparing meals, putting them to bed, teaching them horsecare, vaulting and horseriding (beginner level) etc. Sometimes I was just assisting, but in the summer holidays, another volunteer and I often ran the tent camp that was offered at the pony farm by ourselves. I spent roughly another 1000 hours doing indoor and outdoor chores around the farm and the animals, feeding them, mucking out the paddocks, maintenance work, cleaning, and interacting with guests.

In 2018/2019, I spent 8 months as an Au Pair in Australia, looking after two lovely kids of 5 and 7, who were later both diagnosed with autism and ADS. I learned and grew a lot during that time, and I am forever grateful for my experiences living with this amazing family.

When I was still at school, I also did a lot of tutoring and babysitting. I also won a youth social price with a school project in 2015 that encouraged the exchange between generations and supported seniors.

I absolutely love working with animals, and as mentioned I already have some experience. I never had any formal training in animal care, but I would love to learn more. I do have a dog who is now 4 years old and very well behaved / trained, and a have a special interest in dog training.

I grew up riding horses (as a weekly hobby and during vacations), and would consider myself a good and experienced (hobby) rider. I would love to learn more about natural horsemanship and training horses.

I love being creative, e.g. drawing and painting.

I know how to cook and bake, and I enjoy doing it :)

If there are any other skills you require that I haven't listed, please do enquire as it's possible I just forgot to name them. And of course, I am always eager to learn new things! I have a quick comprehension and usually find my feet fairly quickly.
