Description

I am an organic farmer based in Northern California who loves to travel. I currently work at a small Biodynamic CSA farm in Sonoma County. I am wrapping up the season and taking a year long sabbatical in 2024.
I love being outdoors- hiking, camping, surfing. And I love to explore new places and meet new people. I'm sure everybody says that, but it's true!
As any of the people I farm with will tell you, I am a very hard worker. I am not afraid of a challenge and I am certainly not afraid to get dirty. I feel most satisfied after a day of achieving goals and learning something new. Part of why I love working on farms so much is because I feel like I never stop learning new things.
While I am new to Work Away, I have experienced WWOOFing in Chile, Peru, the Philippines, and Taiwan. I love using work-trade experiences as a means of immersing myself into a new culture and I am excited by all the opportunities available on work away.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a well rounded knowledge of small scale organic farming. I have worked full-time in vegetable production for the last 4 years. I am familiar will the ins and outs of seeding, planting, weeding, irrigating, harvesting and more. I am very comfortable doing repetitive, mundane tasks for long periods of time. I also have basic tractor skills including bed preparation and mechanical cultivation. I am also very comfortable with small hand tools.
I have a lot of experience woking in greenhouses and high tunnel growing areas.
I have always worked closely with a crew of farmers, and love to share the work load with co-workers that become friends. I follow instructions well, and have a great attitude about getting the job done.
I am proficient in Spanish.
