I want to discover the world, get to know new cultures and people. I plan to explore more of Europe between January and June and would love some travel recommendations.

Description

Hi, nice to meet you! :) My name is Caro and I'm 25 years old. I have just finished my master's degree in urban planning and now I want to travel around, discover the world and of course get to know new cultures and people. I grew up in a village in the middle of Germany, surrounded by green fields, mountains and lakes, which is why I feel most at home in nature. That's probably why I'm a plant lover and like to start new garden and outdoor projects. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, stand up paddling and kayaking. On the other hand, I am interested in urban structures, like to discover new places and locations and enjoy city life from time to time. In addition, I am a very creative person and love to create things with my own hands, be it in the kitchen trying out new recipes, drawing or trying my hand at a new upcycling or renovation project. Even if I haven't done something before and have no experience with it yet, it doesn't stop me from trying it anyway and I'm usually a quick learner. So far I've had a few good experiences with workaway, with unforgettable moments surrounded by lovely people and animals. Now I'm looking forward to a new workaway adventure and new challenges.

I'm currently traveling with my friend Magda. Her profile is connected to mine. We got to know each other during our studies and have become a great team. Together we have already done three workaways in Ireland and Denmark. After spending three months in cold but beautiful Denmark, we now want to go to the warm south to Portugal, Spain or Italy in April and May. We are looking for projects involving manual work such as building, painting and gardening, or even working with animals.

Learning new languages is not one of my greatest strengths, but I still like to give it a go. I definitely want to improve my English and I'm excited to be able to say a few basic things in another language. If anyone wants to get into the complicated world of learning German, I'm happy to help. :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I already have some experience in simple carpentry, construction and renovation work indoors and outdoors like painting, sanding, scraping, plastering and bilding stonewalls and fances. Furthermore I can help you with gardening, planting and harvesting. I have already done two workaways in this context. In Ireland, I helped with the renovation of an old manor house and in Denmark with the modernization of a farm.

I love cooking and good food. In Denmark, I worked in a café and learned a few useful tricks in the kitchen. Now I can bake delicious bread and create a variety of appetizing dishes.

I can also help with pets and animals. I grew up with a dog and a cat. One of my tasks during my workaway in Ireland was to cuddle pigs, cats and dogs. I'm therefore happy to have animals at workaway places that I can take care of.

Of course, I am not an expert or a trained builder, but I like to take on new challenges and I'm always open to learning something new.

During a workaway, it is also important for me to get to know the people I live with and the culture, e.g. by eating and cooking together sometimes, enjoying game nights or visiting local events.
