Hello,
I’m Carli, a 26 year old engineering student from the USA. I currently live and work in Boston, Massachusetts at a non-profit organization called Haley House.
I have many interests, but travel and service are two that are high on my list of priorities.
My personality is outgoing, friendly, positive and energetic. I love to engage with people from different backgrounds and cultures in order to create an environment where we can learn from each other.
During 2026, I will be traveling with my mother, Shannon. She is a 55+ retired school teacher who lives in Florida. My mom has over 30 years experience working with children of different ages, backgrounds and abilities.
Shannon enjoys the outdoors, gardening, swimming, going on walks, reading and traveling outside of the United States. She is creative, reliable, trustworthy and easy going.
Family is important to us. We are very close to our siblings, parents and grandparents. Carli has seven cousins, eight aunts & uncles and two grandparents that she often visits and spends time with. They are a support and influential connection in both of our lives.
We would like to tell you about the work that Carli does at the non-profit organization in Massachusetts. One of the departments at Haley House is a soup kitchen that serves meals six days a week to approximately 100 impoverished, unhoused adults living in the city of Boston. She is part of a community that works shifts in the soup kitchen. Her responsibilities include planning daily menus, directing volunteers, cooking healthy recipes, serving guests and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. Other duties at Haley House include managing potential client conflicts during serving times, ordering supplies from local food banks and warehouses, driving the company van to pick up bulk food orders and stocking the company's large industrial food pantry.
When Carli is not working at Haley House or taking classes part time at university, she enjoys being active in her community. One activity Carli looks forward to each week is volunteering at the Boston Children’s Hospital. She helps with young clients in the outpatient wing of the facility organizing crafts, playing games, reading books or doing art projects with children awaiting medical procedures.
Another way Carli stays active in her community is by leading a Girl Scout Troop at a local primary school. Each week 8-10 young “Daisy” Girl Scouts learn about a new value or character trait that promotes respect, confidence and self esteem. Carli truly enjoys leading these weekly meetings and planning activities for this small group of young girls.
We find we are happiest when we are serving others, mentoring or helping in our community. The opportunity to pitch in and connect with others fills our hearts and rewards our souls. Every situation is different , but we often receive far more than we give when participating in these outreach activities.Centres d’intérêt

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I am friendly and outgoing. An avid traveler, I adapt well to new situations and environments. Some of my most memorable experiences include service projects or mission trips in countries other than the USA.
I have lived and attended school in Australia for a year with my siblings. For several years in high school I participated in week long service trips through my church. These included bus trips to Mexico to build homes for families living without shelter.
During my last year in high school I helped to raise money for an organization called the Wheelchair Foundation in California. I was blessed to be able to travel to Buenos Aires with this non-profit company for three weeks.Together with my mom, we helped to put together and deliver 100 wheelchairs to disabled children and adults who could not afford them.
While in college studying engineering, I traveled to Honduras two years in a row with an organization called the Engineering Brigades. Our goal was to design and build water filtration systems for small rural communities without access to running water.
Though these travel experiences I have learned to fill a need when I see a need. I am self motivated to lend a hand in almost any project. In addition, I take direction well and am interested in learning new skills. Most importantly, I desire to become part of a family or community in order to learn about cultural events, foods and traditions.Âge
