Description

Hi, my name is Candice. After working for the French Ministry of Education for more than 8 years, I felt deep inside that it was time for a new start! That is why I have decided to take a one-year sabbatical and go traveling to Central America and South East Asia, starting in April 2023.

I see this trip as an opportunity to learn about other cultures and to spend time with local people. I am willing to share their daily life and contribute to local projects or activities. That is why I registered on Workaway platform.

In June 2023 I volunteered for three weeks in Guatemala, with an association which supports indigenous women. I discovered a reality that you can't see if you travel as a tourist. It was a really enriching experience!

I am looking forward to living other volunteering experiences during my time in Central America :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- Communication: I have a master's degree in Communications and I have worked for more than 8 years as a Communications Officer on different tasks, especially writing and doing video reports,
- Educational topics: I have worked for more than 8 years for an institution of the French Ministry Education which is specialised in international cooperation in education,
- Interpersonal and intercultural skills: through my job I have been in touch with people from very different countries, especially when I went abroad to make video reports on educational projects,
- Sustainable development topics: for several years I have been working on projects to reduce the impact of my organisation and make my colleagues aware of what is at stake,
- Languages: French is my native language but I am also fluent in English and Spanish,
- Public speaking: I volunteered for two years in a Toastmasters club

More generally I am well organised, motivated and always willing to do my best whatever the tasks I am given :)
