Description

We are two 22-year old best friends from France who met during our studies five years ago and decided to maintain our bond through shared experiences and adventures when we can, despite the physical distance imposed by our current studies. Calliste is an Engineering student who specializes in Environmental Sciences and is a bit of a philosopher in her free time (she has a Bachelor in Philosophy as well!) Ysée is a Chemist and Chemical Engineer, specializing in Catalysis and Sustainable Chemistry, who loves hiking, as she grew up in the French Alps. Our previous host once said that we complemented each other well and formed a strong and resourceful partnership.

We believe in a more eco-friendly way of travelling, involving not taking the plane and taking transportation as part of the trip itself. We are curious to experience cultures from countries far from our own but still accessible in one or two days by bus/train, which is why we are particularly interested in the North of Europe.

We already experienced wwoofing in Norway in a farm near Tangen. We built a dam, we took care of horses and pigs, we cooked for the summer camp of Extinction Rebellion, we grew the botanical garden, we learnt storytelling, we became experts in making jams with berries and in travelling in Flixbus (32 hours for the one-way trip!).

We love learning and exchanging with people from diverse backgrounds. We like joking around, sharing deep conversations, cooking together, and contributing to a more sustainable and fairer world at our scale.

We can teach French for both and English for Ysée only. Our primary goal is not to learn another language, but we are still curious about other language and like to learn words, phrases and sayings in other languages.
