Hello,
We are Colette and Philippe, a french couple living between the forests of eastern France and the ocean in Brittany. We are Nina's parents, our daughter, who is now 32 years old.
Ireland holds a special place in our hearts for a long time (The first time for Colette in 1982 and from 1983 to 1992 several stays together like social workers , then on vacancies when we could ...).
Now we are both happy to be retiring since 2022. We can choose when we come back in the country we love so much ...
After one successful solo workaway's experience for Colette 2 years ago, we created a duo profile to return together in 2025, and we come back next spring.
So ! third year in Ireland... Two months not as tourists, but travel and stay without consuming in an interesting context of exchanges and services, to truly share the life of our irish hosts and others travelers,
We are reliable and complementary persons. If we commit to your project, you can count on us...

What can we offer you ?

Colette : I spent 40 years working with people in vulnerable situations, social and healthcare work. I am a simple, modest person, people say I am kind and energetic. I have a natural sense of everyday life... For me there are no unpleasant tasks but I take care, can not longer perform excessively heavy physical tasks. Gardening, cooking, helping around the house, caring of fragile persons, pets. I enjoy being useful and learning along the way. We always learn...

Philippe : First trained in mechanics before becoming a computer programmer. Curious and resourceful, enjoys solving problems, working with wood, gardening, all general maintenance, DIY projects and anything that allows him to learn something new.
His motto is : * "I'll find the way!" and he find it... (*Colette is the witness !).

We love theater and good cinema, Colette plays theater, participates in writing workshops, has a great admiration for Ken Loach ...
Philippe goes on long hikes (walking around all Brittany in 2022), rides a bike, makes beautiful photos. He is a big reader. From his retirement, he decided to make our sourdough bread and pastries. We dont often buy bread ...
We project to walk both on the wicklow way next june 2026...
Both no smokers, experienced with animals, friends with farmers...

Our level in english : Colette never learned english at school in France but like to speak, improve without using translation. In Ireland, I had to listen carefully so I learned !
Irish people seem OK when we are in conversations. No problem for daily language. I manage to read, watch television, movies in original versions and... improve.
Philippe takes lessons to speak all the year because he is better in english writing but he's OK for daily language. We are also complementary in english and in the presence of our hosts we do not speak french . It's a convention...

Social support, assistance to individuals and families, daily and home life, general maintenance, computer maintenance and programming.
Interior and exterior maintenance and repairs, DIY and home improvements, all types of work in parks, gardens, vegetable gardens, pet sitting, some experience with farm animals, tourist accommodation (hostel and outdoor). Strong sense of commitment, Sincere approach.
