Description
Hello! I am a recent university graduate with a burning desire to explore the world and understand cultures different than my own. I feel most like myself when I’m traveling and interacting with people different than me. In the last 16 months I’ve spent more than 6 months traveling Latin American countries, of which my experiences include volunteering for a public health program in rural Peru, living with a host family for 5 weeks, and solo backpacking Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua. I studied Spanish at my university, and living among and conversing with native speakers has brought me so much happiness. I’m outgoing and curious, and I love meeting strangers and connecting with people that have different interests and backgrounds than me! Finding things to talk about with new faces has always come easily to me, and it is one of my favorite parts about traveling. I am very active and am always looking for new adventures. I’ve played sports my whole life, with particular focus on soccer, so I value connecting with others through sport and physical activity as well. In addition to Spanish, I also studied public health and environmental science, so i enjoy understanding and discussing the overlap of a healthy mind, healthy body and healthy earth! I also love art, music and culture, and experiencing those in places different from home while also making connections with people from outside my own country excites me in so many ways.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
In May 2023 I graduated with a bachelors degree in public health, with special emphasis on environmental science and Spanish. Much of my classes focused on preventative health, such as the importance of health education and communication. I also focused a lot on the inclusion and attention to marginalized communities in my studies. Because of this, I am very skilled in communication and people-oriented work. I am a natural communicator and presenter, and conversing with those different than me comes naturally. I also am very skilled in writing, both anecdotally and academically and genuinly enjoy writing. I am a person that many find very easy to confide in and count on, as I am an approachable and compassionate person. I have consistently been on sports teams for the past 18 years, and have always held leadership and captain positions because of my abilities to bring team members from all corners together. I bring comfort, commitment, and an inclusive and supportive mentality to group-oriented environments. I also have studied Spanish for over 7 years in both conventional classes as well as with native speakers. I am not fluent, but I do have strong conversational abilities and am always working to improve my abilities. I love teaching, and because of my desire to help others, I am often the one people come to for support in many ways. I’ve always worked in customer service since I was 15, so I am well-equipped for any jobs requiring interacting with and tending to the needs of others. I am quick-learner, highly initiative and creative, and well-spoken, making me a very well-rounded individual!

I love soccer and any kind of physical activity! I am an avid runner and hiker and love doing anything outside. I love skiing as well and am looking forward to exploring new mountains. I also love dancing, it is a new hobby but I am so excited to get better and continue practicing! Reading is another one of my hobbies, I love almost any type of book and exchanging book recommendations with those from different cultures brings me so much joy!
