Description

Hi, my name's Brooke! I am a 26 year-old student from the U.S. who will be studying abroad at UvA (my programs only last 3 weeks, but I will be in the country from now through August). At my home university, I am studying nursing and have a minor in psychology.
I really value learning, community, and family. I have experience cleaning houses for renovation and with gardening, babysitting, petsitting, and cleaning. I have over a decade of experience volunteering, as well as several years of food preparation and service. I am actively gaining clinical experience as a Nursing Aide in memory care at a nursing home. I am also their hired pianist!
I hope to become a travel hospice nurse someday, and am traveling abroad up until then.
I love feeling useful and being able to physically contribute to positive change, so Workaway is a great fit for me. I enjoy working as a caregiver for those with dementia, which means I have a great deal of patience as well!

I have many interests and hobbies, some of them being that I am a classically trained pianist, skier, and rock climber. I have gone through several CPR certification trainings and love caring for kids and animals. I was elected the president of the Women in STEM club at my university and am currently learning American Sign Language. Additionally, I helped prototype and build a beehive that was the first of its kind.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a hard worker who is thorough and able to adapt. I’m passionate about my studies and am working towards a degree in Nursing with a minor in Psychology in the U.S. I have excelled in all courses needed to receive a Badge in Advanced American Sign Language- I love learning! I also have exceptional interpersonal effectiveness skills established through over 12 years of volunteering. I am a classically trained pianist, rock climber, skier, and traveler. I have worked in food service, as a babysitter, and as a caregiver for those with dementia. I have also assisted with house cleaning, renovation, gardening, and yard work.
