Hello! Please note - Christie is currently travelling solo in Japan from July to September. We will travel together as a couple from September to December.

We are Blaise and Christie, a couple from Melbourne, Australia. We have lived in Melbourne for 10 years and enjoy travelling together. We have travelled to Japan, Vanuatu, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam together, as well as other countries in Asia and Europe/UK separately.

This year we are travelling Japan on working holiday visas and looking for opportunities to work, experience different places and make friends with local people. We are both beginner level in Japanese and very keen to learn more on our travels!

Last year we completed three workaways in different countries. In Indonesia and Thailand we volunteered in English classrooms working with children aged 3-16. We got experience following and/or creating lesson plans as well as being able to improvise games and activities, and exchange information about our lives and cultures with our students. In Malaysia, we worked in a hostel and got a completely different experience (and got to see how it all worked!) We loved the challenges and really exercised our abilities to jump in and do whatever was asked of us.

We are native English speakers and are very interested in teaching English and helping English learners with their conversation skills. Christie is an ESL teacher and can teach any level of English from beginner to advanced.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Christie - I am an English teacher for adults from foreign countries in Melbourne, Australia. My favourite things to teach are conversation skills, pronunciation and grammar. I also enjoy rollerskating and nature, and love to learn about the history of the places I visit. I'm very keen to practise my Indonesian skills whenever possible.

Blaise - I work with people with disabilities to help train them in transferrable work skills and find them jobs. Prior to this I worked in hospitality for 10 years as a cocktail bartender. I enjoy swimming and going for nature walks, learning about culture and playing music. I am learning Auslan in Melbourne and am also interested in learning languages as I travel.
