Hey, it's Birger, a 22-year-old student and journalist living in Magdeburg, Germany.

First of all (Important!): This is a shared profile of me and my very good friend Diana. Reading through the feedback you will also find the names Kieran and Rudy. We all used this profile in different combinations. But for the next adventure, it will only be me, Birger :)

From November 2022 'til May 2023, me and some friends traveled through Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece. We had 7 workaways during that time (2 with Diana and Rudy, 5 with Diana and Kieran). One year later, I revisited former hosting family in Galicia, Spain with my boyfriend Kieran. Then we took a ferry to Ireland, where we had the last workaway until today. Funnily, our host's name was Kieran (Ki) as well. We are still in contact with Ki, became friends and want to go back to Ireland this year.
All in all, I am an experienced workawayer.

I am going to quit my Journalism studies soon in order to start studying Economics in October. I want to fight for a transformation of our economy as a journalist. I am already working for the German national newspaper taz.
Anyways, therefore I am having a little break between both studies, that I want to use going back to what I like the most: Living the easy life, reading, writing, reconnecting, working physically, meeting wonderful people, learning from one another, going out and enjoying nature and new places.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am most interested in Gardening, Landscaping, Transforming Areas. Actually I learned about myself how much the outdoor working with plants and soil calms me during the workaways I did.
After coming back from our first travel, I started working in Greenkeeping in my hometown Rostock for 8 month. Therefore I am also used to use common gardening machines. Last summer, me, my boyfriend Kieran and a friend of us also started a gardening project in our city of Magdeburg. We are transforming an overgrown and plastic polluted allotment into our little garden paradise and I love it. I literally can't stop my self from going there.

I can also do a little wood and DIY working but it's not my specialty.

Anyways, I would consider myself to be a fast learner, so I will be able to do many things if you take some time to show how to do it properly. (e.g. without knowing much about masonry we have started to build a pool in Galicia in 2023, that we where able to swim in one year later as we came back to that place)

Of course I am able to do the basic things of shared life such as cleaning, cooking, etc.
