Hi, I'm Mattia. I'm italian and I live in a small city called Modena (where Ferrari was made!).

I just got my bachelor degree in computer engineering. However in my future I don't want informatics at all. In the past two years my awareness of the problems, contradictions and nonsenses of society have grown esponentially and I reached a point where I can't stand anymore living fully inside it. I can't stand anymore that everything I do have bad, hidden repercussions on other people or nature. That's why I need to run away to see other ways of living, where nature is respected and lived, where people care about who you are and not how you look. And workaway is the best bridge I know for discovering very different realities.

Being more practical, I'm a young guy who have had since now a pretty "normal" life, but I really think I don't fit anymore in it. I want to live in a simpler way and maybe dedicate my life to the fight against climate change and to share a more sustainable way of living. I really like (the idea of) community life, and I think it's the key to a more respectful (and happy) lifestyle.

With workaway I would like to live experiences that introduce me to the world of sustainable communities/project, and challenge myself into live a different lifestyle .
In particular I would like to learn more about permaculture. About that, I have almost no practical experience, but I have a good theorical knowledge about biodiversity and problems of monocultures.

I'm a smiley person, I aim to be respectful and caring of other people needs and I have a very good adaptability to new situations. I'm an extrovert person, I like to talk and I'm a VERY curious person. I love sports, board and card games. I love music and I love dancing.

I've done two workaways, one in a small greek island, Samothraki, and the other in Ouarzazate, Morocco. They have been very challenging (in a good way), and I learnt a lot from them.
I'm looking forward to a new, unique experience!!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

In my life, I’ve done a lot of jobs/gigs, such as:
- Entertainer in a resort and a summer camp
- Waiter in restaurants and pizza places
- Dog sitter for a friend
- Volunteer at festivals
- Informatics Professor in high school

To sum up, I think my main skills are:
- Bringing energy and enthusiasm, for example when organizing a group activity
- Teaching: I LOVE teaching.
- Helping with computers/internet: I have a bachelor degree in computer engineering, so I should be prepared if you have any problems ahah
- The most important one: the willing to learn. In the past four years I've been doing a lot of new things. If I like what I'm doing I give the 100%. Skills come later

My passion/addiction is for sports: I always practised a sport - football before and now volleyball - and I've loved every new sport/game I ever tried.

I love nature, animals, watching the stars.... its peacefullness is contagious. Lately I've became very interested in astronomy.

I love music: rock, pop but even jazz, folk... whatever I can dance :)
I love make new friends e and meet new people :)
I love talking, dancing and playing board games :)
