Hi !

I am Baya, I am 21 years old and l live in Lyon (France). After graduating with a degree in computer science, I knew I wanted to take some time off to explore the world. I’ve always been drawn to adventure, nature, and genuine human connection. I’m curious to meet new people, dive into different cultures, and pick up (or improve) languages along the way.

Last year, I spent some time in Monforte de Lemos, Spain, for my first WWOOF experience and I was thrilled to get my hands dirty on a farm for the first time! It turned out to be an incredible experience. Not only did I get to practice my Spanish and discover the culture from the inside, but I also met amazing people.

One encounter in particular stuck with me: an elderly woman I didn’t know came up to me and started speaking in Spanish. I didn’t catch everything she said, my Spanish is still a work in progress but I could feel the warmth and sincerity in her words. Before leaving, she shook my hand and said: “Estudia y formate” (“Study and train yourself”). At first, I thought she meant formal education. But over time, I came to understand it differently. To me now, it means that life itself is a journey of constant learning and growth.

That’s exactly what I’m looking for. For me, Workaway isn’t just about places or jobs—it’s about the people, the exchanges, and the personal growth that comes from these shared moments.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm very motivated to learn and expand my skills, especially in the areas I haven’t yet had much exposure to.

But I have an amazing experience on a farm, where I had the chance to learn about horses and permaculture (Plant and pick fruits and vegetables). I also know how to assemble furniture and do various jobs.

And also I can offer support with tech-related tasks. Whether it’s helping with software, troubleshooting, or any other IT-related needs, I’m more than happy to contribute in this area as well.
