  • Description

    Hello,

We are an international couple, Agata, 25 y.o., is from Sicily and Antoine, 30 y.o., from France. After living 8 months within an off-grid community in the spanish desert, we decided to come in Sicily.

    Agata:
Born in Sicily, I had been abroad for a long time for my studies and research in soil biology and agroecology. I am a very curious person, full of energy, in a continuous need to learn, and a will to share with other people my passions.
I am doing a course to become a hiking guide in Sicily. My project is to combine hiking with revegetation of Sicilian soils, covering bare/abandoned land with native plants, especially by collecting and preserving wild seeds, germination workshop and direct sowing. For this reason, I will not be available on Thursdays afternoon and during the Week-end. However, I am available to work a few extra hours during the week to make up for Thursday hours.

    Antoine:
I am a mechanical engineer. I enjoy practising rock climbing, sailing and hiking, discover other cultures, and meet people.
I am a very curious person, ready to discover and learn new knowledge, and passionate by all technological issues for a sustainable life. I am currently focused about mobility, energetic and water autonomy issues, woodworking, and construction methods.

Antoine is moving to Sicily and would like to learn and practise his Italian. In exchange, we would enjoy to teach English (Agata & Antoine), French (Antoine) or Spanish (Agata).

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

    Agata:
I studied and did research in soil biology and agroecology abroad. For the last 8 months, I have been coordinating the Drylands Restoration department in an off-grid community in Andalusia : forest nursery, seed bank, direct sowing and transplanting, composting, trail maintenance, collaboration and supervision of thesis trainees and volunteers.

    Antoine:
I have done several Wwoofing and Workaway experiences in different places in Europe (Spain, Danemark, Réunion Island ...): I took care about animals in different farms and in two equestrian center, partipated to make rhum in a distillery, did woodworking in ecovillages and in an abbey, and help a host to install an off-grid electrical system. I have some knowledge in different technical domains : Woodcraft (wood electric tools handling, carpenter & wood framework bases), house maintenance basics (plumbing, electrical, coating, painting etc) and some theoretical knowledge about low technology equipments.
