Description

The thought of exploring new places, their culture and people, makes my heart go warm and I believe traveling offers experiences and perspectives hard to obtain otherwise.

I am an aspiring photographer and I wish to use my travels to develop this passion of mine further. Languages, more specifically writing, is another interest of mine which most likely will grow throughout upcoming travels and language exchanges; injustices around the world is a topic close to heart and is therefore something I often refer to when writing. I have danced since I was four years old and would consider myself an active person. I love snowboarding.

I am a person with high ambitions and I have worked since I was fifteen years old. I am currently about to finish the International Baccalaureate and I have throughout my time in high school volunteered as a tutor for “Perform on Top”, an organization offering Swedish lessons for those in need. I have also worked as a dance teacher for children (4-12 years old), alongside my work at the amusement park “Liseberg”. I was one of the board members of my school’s climate club, a club focused on climate change and the corresponding actions one should take in order to prevent further harm, another topic which I care about.

I would say that my number one goal is to make each day somewhat special and I find a lot of joy in the small things: picnics while watching the sun go down, to read and sleep under the stars, cooking with friends or swimming at midnight.

I hope “Workaway” will bring lots of incredible adventures, and even more so, incredible people. Let’s do this!

I am fluent in Swedish and English and have been volunteering at organizations offering help and tutoring within both of them. I have studied Spanish for four years but would like to improve my skills further. I would love to learn other languages too. Maybe Italian, French or Portuguese?

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As mentioned before, I have been working as a dance teacher for about three years. This experience has taught me the ways in which you should approach children and how to make everyone in the room feel seen and welcomed. This, in combination with my experience in teaching Swedish via the organization “Perform on Top”, has taught me the basics of learning and how to behave as a tutor. To work with people is also a familiar part of my life through my job at the amusement park “Liseberg”, where I meet thousands of new people everyday. I am an aspiring photographer and have exhibited my work once, so far. I also spent two summers working in an ice cream shop.

I have spent the past two years executing the International Baccalaureate, a program which has taught me the importance of efficiency, hence improving my time management. I studied the following subjects: business management, visual arts, environmental systems & societies, English, Swedish and mathematics. Business management and visual arts were my favorites.

Humanitarian and environmental issues are of biggest priority to me and I wish to use future volunteer jobs working in favor of such matters.

I grew up on the country side of Sweden with a childhood full of nature and animals, and this is therefore something I treasure.

I’m a positive person, always up for a challenge!

My favorite tv shows are “Friends”, “La Casa de Papel” and “Outlander”. My favorite movies would have to be “Call me by your name” and “Mestari Cheng”. I have been traveling with my family my entire life but have never set foot outside of Europe. I love food way too much to pick a single dish, or even kitchen, as my favorite - too many options!
