Hi everyone, I'm Anna! :)

I'm new to the Workaway community, but very excited to create some amazing opportunities travelling, learning languages, skills and meeting fantastic people.
I like to be helpful and hardworking with tasks and opportunities and want to make the most out of our time together.

I love both the city and countryside. I was born in London, then moved to the South of England to the West Sussex countryside. Half of my family are from Wales, so I have grown up with farm life, hiking mountains and exploring nature.

I'm currently studying at university in the small city of Norwich to become a nurse, and hoping to be a Music Therapist in my free time. Norwich is a very friendly and creative city which welcomes people with a variety of interests, so it's a lovely place to live.

I find it disappointing that us Brits don't spend enough time learning languages and expect everyone to speak English. I like to learn new languages and skills, so I enjoy meeting people from all around the world who share their experiences and knowledge.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I work as a student nurse for my degree, so university often prepares me for the real world and I work with real patients on a daily basis. As a nurse, I'm caring and logical and must be prepared for anything, even when I don't feel super confident. I believe it's just as important to care for ourselves and our team as our patients. Sometimes, people struggle to communicate verbally (like learning a language!), so I often have to communicate in various ways. We don't just give injections and medication, we help with daily tasks such as mobility, eating, washing and dressing. Naturally, I am trained in first aid and many health needs but hopefully won't need to use these nursing skills when working as a Workawayer!

I have a part-time job working as a barista and bartender, so I'm used to the hustle and bustle of hospitality and customers. I have a lot of experience babysitting and looking after pets, but have not yet had the brilliant opportunity to work abroad, so this is a new experience for me and I hope to learn a lot.

I am a musician in my free time and continue to learn more instruments. I have been playing the piano and clarinet since a child, and am a rusty self-taught guitarist. I would love to play music, instruments and sing with you if you're up for it! Most of my friends aren't musical, so I don't often get the opportunity to play with others.

I am beginner level in French and somewhat conversational in Mandarin, since learning in school. Although out of practice, I am keen to learn and speak more.

I am a musician in my free time and continue to learn more instruments. I have been playing the piano and clarinet since a child, and a rusty self-taught guitarist. I would love to play music, instruments and sing with you if you're up for it! Most of my friends aren't musical, so I don't often get the opportunity to play with others.

I also love to watch films and go to art exhibitions either by myself, or with friends. I have a cinema membership which allows me to go and watch films whenever and however many times. My grandfather was an artist, so I love to discover new art and visit museums and exhibitions.

I love animals and have a dog called Bodie, so I enjoy being outside walking with him. He never gets tired from walking long hikes so at least he keeps me fit and healthy!
